What type of kennel/crate is everyone using when they bring their dogs to shows?

In terms of size, how much room do you give them? Do they need to be able to stand up?

i personally own and use metal foldable kennels...i cant use the plastic ones 1 of my dogs will tear the sides out of crate and try to swallow them...lol...i have the biggest one you can buy from tractor supply comp..you wanna make the dog comfortable as can be on them long trips to shows, plus you can fold them down if you need to..jmo

i dunno- would YOU like to be able to stand up, or rather be cramped up for 8+hours?

foldable metal crate, the larger the better. if its cold weather-pack some straw in there. if its nice out, just throw in a blanket for them to lay on.
the crate needs to be big enough for your dog to be ~comfortable~ and have a bowl of water in there
dont forget the shade! spend $100 on an EZUP at wally world
^this is one of the things that irks me the most at dog shows ( besides the people who dont pay attention to what their dogs are doing) the dogs NEED shade

I prefer plastic crates. If I use the metal crates, I put zip ties on every corner and in the middle to help prevent the dog from getting out. I have one dog that will bend the bars on the metal crate. She does fine in a plastic crate.

We used to use metal folding crates but with more dogs, space is limited so we switched to plastic airline kennels. They need to be big enough for the dog to stand up and turn around in minimum.

I mostly use wire folding crates but I have dogs that will not try and get out of them. I also will use a 200 crate (200 is the size) for my dogs that are 35lbs-45lbs, they have enough room to stand up and lay down but I would not use a 200 on a dog bigger that 45lbs.

Good idea. I have seen dogs get out of those metal crates at the dog shows. I dont remember seeing any get out of plastic crates.

Zip Tying is a must for the metal crates they will shift and collapse i find!, plastic some will chew them to shit! And airports i'm pretty sure only allow plastic crates! a metal one would be best as long as like Rally said!, "big enough" Tall enough , wide enough to turn around.
