Cynthia - it may be too that we are in different parts of the country. I have noticed for whatever reason that in some areas of the country some dogs are more over bred than others & thus more substandard dogs can be put out.

In Ohio where I grew up I never, ever met a "vicious" boxer. As mentioned before I did meet one who would bite you on the rear end if we played too rough, but I would hardly consider him vicious.

I have not worked in a vet office, but I did work at a boarding kennel & during my time here in Mississippi I have met a few boxers & not a one of them was mean. In fact, they were all sweethearts. I guess I have just been lucky!

As for the OP, I agree the dog should not have been PTS, at least not w/o an invesitgation to see what went on. Like I said before, I hope her bro sues as that AC needs to be taught a lesson! :mad:

 

no I dont want anyone to feel sorry for me,It's the poor dog that got the shitty end of the deal.And their were four dogs in the other backyard,four other boxers.And yes we are partially to blame for the whole thing,just as the people next door are.My dog is jusr as guilty as theirs ,I'm not mad about the fight,I'm mad that they took my dog and killed it over a fucking dog fight!I'm mad that my dog was guilty and condemned to die.You cant tell me that if a dog came into your yard,got eaten,and your dog got blamed for the whole situation and killed ,while the other dog was treated as a poor victim of a vicious killer monster,even though the other dog had just as much guilt in the situation ,you wouldn't be outraged?BOTH dogs were guilty,BOTH fought but,they just assume it was all the pit bulls doing it's just fucking sick!Bruiser should have been on chain,but,then again their dog should have too and their just getting off scott free playing the victims of the killer pit bull bullshit.It is shit like this that makes people afraid of pit bulls and gets all this bsl shit going,nevermind the boxer came onto our property and got into a fight,all that matters is that it was a pit bull involved and that makes him guilty just because of what he is?And it is LAW here that a dog must be declared vicious by a judge and even then,It's not an automatic death sentance,you just have to follow dangerous dog guidlines from then on,which I woul have done without a problem.I just dont understand how peole can get away with shit like this,even if we do file a lawsuit againsr the city,it wont bring my dog back.And if they must kill my dog why dont they kill the other one ?It was the one who came onto our property.And I know,Iknow this is how it always is with our dogs but the shit just kills me.It's like a witch hunt out of control and I just wonder how many innocent animals are going to be destroyed before it stops.

 

Oh, yeah, if a dog came into my yard & got killed & they took my dog & killed it, I'd be furious. There is no doubt about that, esp. if the person w/ the loose dog off scot free. That is why I said I hope your bro sues the AC office for every red cent they have!!!!!

I had just got the impression by your first few posts that you were blaming everybody else, when everyone (to include your brother) had a hand in the matter. That's the only thing I was pointing out.

And I was wondering how you came to the conclusion of what happened since you said everyone was at work. I would assume the there was no one there to see what happened? Or was the neighbor home?

But if they did to my dog what they did to your brother's, I'd be calling a lawyer pronto!

Oh & if it makes you feel any better, it's not always a pit bull thing - years ago a cat went into our yard & my Chow/Lab mix killed it. The AC deemed him "vicious" as well. Luckily they had the "one free bite" rule so they didn't take him away, but my mom ended up having to pay a special permit just to keep him all b/c he killed a trespassing stray cat.

 

Thes particular dogs are very aggressive and they breed them like crazy,Pretty much evryone in the neighborhood has one of their pups.And yes they are sub par animals,bred by puppy peddlars for money.They are not good dogs and certainly not dogs you would want passed on as example's of good boxers.If you walk by their fence or even in my bro backyard and they see or hear you they eill liunge against the fence then turn on each other till the owners have to come out and s[pray them with those hose.They are just unsocialized aggressinve dogs that are made to breed constantly.like a damn puppy mill,they never come out of their backyard ever.When people come to look at pups the adult dogs have to be locked down because they will bite.They have to take the pups away from the one dog asap so she wont kill them.And this isnt just getting rid of newborns like some dogs do,she killed two of her last litter over food when the pups were about eight weeks old.So you see,these damn dogs are just as viciuos as any "pit bull" and thats part of the reason I'm so irate about the whole thing.The pot calling the kettle black.

 

They were pulling up and heard the noise of the dogs fighting,and she just decided that Bruiser had drug her dog through the hole cuz there was no way her innocent dog had willingly got into a fight,so she didnt see waht happened just drew her own conclusions that kept her out of trouble and she just got to talk to A.C. first.And that shit about the cat is just insane to say the least.Dogs killing cats is vicious:rolleyes: My moms lab has eaten a million cats that have had the misfortune of coming into her yard.And here ,chows get the same treatment as pit bulls ,so i'm not surprised.

 

How horrible. But like my daddy said "if you give someone enough rope, they'll hang themselves." It will only be a matter of time before one of those dogs hurts them or someone else & then they'll be feeling the bite.

 

yeah,I'ts just a matter of time before they get out again and their next encounter might not be with a pit bull who can defend its self.Next time it might be the chow chow back there and ther is no doubt the dog would die.

 

Or it might get back into your bro's yard while he is there & he might have to shoot the dog in self-defense. Just make sure he shoots it in the front of the head, not the back! lol.

Granted filing a suit won't bring your dog back (yup, THAT does suck) but!

you just may help to pave the way for the next owner this may happen to~as, it'll all be 'on the books', and your particular case could be used as a reference point, so, think of it in terms of helping the next "pit bull" owner, who shouldn't have to be going thru this shit. Trust me, I feel for you. I would be SOOOO past the point of irrate right now, if i were you, and i'll probably ask someone to lock me up, cuz i'd just be plain crazed!!!!!

was wondering, does your dog have any history that can used against it? i.e.was he ever deemed to be "danerous" or have a past history of any sort?

now ABK if i come home and my dog was in his pen and another dog was in it dead then it was in the wrong place,,
not at fault of my dogs,, much less putting mine down for killing it,,,

i don't care how you look at it or how the other dog got there if it was on my property then they are at fault,,,

Well thats a good way to look at it and since it's happened before maybe something will be done about it this time.And no,he never had a past of being agressive or anything negative about him so I'll see what happens monday when we can talk to a lawyer.LOL,believe me if it werent for some little yellow pills I probably would be crazed by now.

Exactly my thougts. That s h i t makes me sick. If 2 dogs fight they will kill ouer choice of dogs. However, many dogs are extremely aggressive but this is no matter ... our dogs they are always those which ones are killed. Pays attention to your dogs, we are surrounded by foolishness!!!
