Hello, My name is Alyssa. My husband and I adopted a pitbull last year and are having an extremely hard time trying to find a place to live. As you know, we tried to apply on base housing, but they have a bane on pitbulls. Luckily, I am a type one diabetic and was able to have my dog trained to medically assist me in a few ways. I got a doctors not prescribing me a service dog, a note from the company who trained him, and we registered him as a registered service animal. Lincoln military housing STILL will not allow us to register for housing on base. Is this even legal? i don't understand how they can go against a federal law that states service dogs must be allowed on premises with their owners unless they are posing a threat or acting out.
