If you have a Farm and Fleet, Southern Ag (I think), Tractor Supply Co. then you can possibly get them there. They should have wormers and shots. Shots are cheap. Sometimes vets sell them to people (they do for livestock by me at least).

  4. The only place here that comes to mind that we have as far as farm stuff is a tates feed and seed, i woonder if they have the shots? I'm going to check it out.

good god!that is insane,i would definitly look into doing them myself,i get my five in ones from www.drsfoster&smith.com i belive last time i got some it was 25 vials for 69.99 plus a few dollars for the syringes i dont remember exactly how much it came out to but im sure its cheaper than 100$ a visit!

  6. I'm def. gonna check into it!! $100 dollars a visit is killing me! And the prices go up as the pup grows!

i'll bet it is ,that is ludacris i would hate to see what happens if your dogs get sick or injured.Proabably have to sell your soul or give the vet your first born or something!Have you called several vets in your area to compare pricing?I know alot of the bigger more high tech clinics will charge outrageous prices like that .but the clinic i work at and the guy i take my dogs to are just running their offices themselves and are alot more reasonable. They may not have the most high tech equipment, but for simple things like vaccines they are great. It's also better like that sometimes because you can get more personal care from the smaller guys.thats why i take my dogs to the guy i do rathar than my clinic.he has been our vet since we moved here and he is wonderfull,he never charges us for office visits or routine checks like heartworms and other parasites.when my moms husky had parvo ,she was there for two weeks and all together he charged my mom 150$.

  8. WOW! I wish it were like that here, yep i'm actually at the cheapest vet here, I did find out she does have a payment plan but the ting is, if the pup needs meds or whatever they hold it until its paid. Uggh.

They keep your dog?!?!?well ,sounds like alot of human doctors, dont give ashit about helping people they just want the money, thats so sad.Im glad we found a good one,he actually cares about the animals. When i talk to his vet tech she always tells me how he tries to help people with little money keep their pets healthy.I think alot of people have the additude that if your poor you dont deserve to have some things, while i agree that you shouldnt have animals if you cant take care of them ,there are people who try to do right and then when something happens like the dog needs surgery they cant afford it and people including vetererinarians tret them like scum who have no right to have a pet.It really sickens.

  10. NO no, not the dog, the medicine until its paid for, regardless of how bad your pet needs it.

  11. I haven't ran into a problem yet because i always call for a price estimate before i bring my dogs in...But it does get costly...

well thats just as bad, they would rathar the dog die than lose a few dollars. Why even get into the field of medicine ?

  13. I know!! Its like that here, or if you can't pay for a surgery they always suggest euthanzia. Which is not an option for me.

  14. chloesredboy

    chloesredboy CH Dog

thats just a damn shame.I cant count how many times we've donated services when it was a matter of life or death.Ussually the only time we suggest euth is when the prognosis is bad even with the surgery.Like if we find a dog infested with cancer and the owner cant pay we wil suggest euth, but if its something like an intestinal obstruction or a broken bone that requires surgery most the time the docs will donate their services and the set up a payment plan for whatever costs their may be for meds and sutures and things like that.sometimes its just up to us ,if we have a dog with parvo or something the docs will let us accept it if we want to take care of it as long as the owners is willing to work with us we always try to give them an option other than euthanazia.I know if something happened to my dogs and i wasnt in a position to pay for it i would do whatever i had to,to take care of it.I would probably rob a bank before i pts my dog over something trivial.Whoever your vet is doesnt deserve to be a veterinarian!

  15. I agree! But sadly all the vets here are like that! I want to look into doing the shots myself, That way i can continue to add funds to my dogs account i have, so if anything major does happen, i can pay for it, it would save me money plus help add into their accounts. (yes i have a saving account for my dogs, i guess i'm weird) But anyhow it would really help if i could get the shots myself, instead of having to do it at the vets everytime.

not weird, hell id have one too if i lived there!

  17. Right! So thats why i can't take this pup in long term...I can't afford his shots too at this moment, or neuter. But if tates carries the shots i can probably get them done that way. My mom has him now as he showed up there but hec she has 2 dogs of her own......Sigh.....I hope i can find him a great home.I hate dumpers!!

poor baby , if i lived in georgia....well id have to tell my husband i found him!he is a realy nice looking dog.

  19. He is a cutie, I've been tempted to tell my mom i'l just keep him but i know that would be unfair to him and my dogs, finacial wise. I'm going to be picking him up tomorrow to foster him until i can find that home for him, but it can't be long term.

  20. The only thing i'm worried about is what if he does stay long? What to do then? I guess i could struggle a bit....I would never take him to the shelters here!
