That’s a big reason why I have a dog. Unleashed dog runs up on me and my family, my dog handles it.

This has happened multiple times in my neighborhood as well. Irresponsible shit for brains people are a dime a dozen. And they own dogs too.

Leash your goddamn dogs or it may get fucked up. Thems the rules.

  3. Yes your right it's a big problem stupid owners just let their dogs run free on the street I have to keep my eyes glued ahead at the back at the sides even lose Jack russell size dogs I try to get in out the way or behind someone's gate don't want these little dogs getting hurt it's getting a nightmare trying to avoid them

Oh yeah man when you’ve got a real dog at the end of the leash… always scanning, always alert, always ready. A walk in a neighborhood is no regular walk in the park. Especially with this breed.

It’s a shame having to be responsible for other grown folks but that’s the reality of life. Some people gotta learn the hard way and some just never learn. My suggestion is to walk your dog early morn or later in evening when traffic is less likely. That said, my dogs always get super amped up at night and ready to rumble at the drop of a hat. So while there’s less traffic, keep in mind the dogs will be more easily excited.

Lastly I wanted to tell you that I think the fact you posted asking about this goes to show how responsible you are with your dog(s) and how much you care. You also came prepared with the breaking stick. That’s what’s up man. Props.

  6. My neighborhood has tons of loose dogs and it sucks. I’ve worked super hard to get my dogs to be as civil as I can with other dogs. They generally do well and my roughest dog will generally ignore small dogs like poodles but a big aggressive male and it’s a completely different story. We’ve had aggressive Akitas, Rottweilers, 100 lb pet bulls roaming loose through the neighborhood and it definitely sucks.

was at a small park around 7am one morning before anyone else was there. My dog was on leash, everything was great for about 15 min. The park on one side backed up to houses. Turns out a guy that lives in one of the houses saw me out with my dog so he decides to bring his pit bull in the park unleashed. Next thing you know his dog comes up and attacks my dog. The guy never once tried to prevent or stop his dog from attacking and didn’t try to break up the fight until the end. To this day I’ve always felt he did it on purpose after seeing me out there. I’m guessing he figured his dog would whip mine but my el negro dog wouldn’t go for that.

He finally grabbed his dog after I got mine off of his but I definitely hate loose dogs especially after that.
If I had been walking a poodle things would have turned out very different

    Loose dogs suck.

I walk at night typically. Lessens the chance I run into someone's off leashed dog. It's not a definite though and still can happen.

  9. It's night and day loose dogs where I live can't think what to do about it to try and avoid

I remember one morning I was walking my dog. Across the street was a loose doberman. The dog came running towards me and my dog. Of course my chihuahua thought he was hot shit and started barking and charging at the doberman. I picked up my dog and started kicking at the doberman. Now I would never just kick a dog but if one comes charging at my dog I will do whatever I have to do. This doberman was known for running around and almost bit a kid. I went over to the owners with an extra leash that I had and told them to keep their damn dog on a leash.

Other than that incident, everyone around here where I live leashes their dog.

  14. Yeah my goal is to get some land in a few years, hopefully at least a few acres for the dogs to run.
Saw 2 bullies running down the street this morning. It’s crazy how many loose dogs there are nowadays

Except it does not matter if your dog is leashed, there will be repercussions regardless. The goal is to avoid any and all interaction.

What I do is I take my dog out running late at night, usually around 9:30 or so when there are no other dogs around. I am on my bike and if I spot another dog I will immidiately turn around and head in the opposite direction.

I walk the trails on my property. I see unleashed dog all the time. American bulldogs, hunting curs, shit bulls, boxers you name it.
So far all have ran up and stopped short then decided to turn around.
Lucky I suppose some would say. I think they realize what they’re looking at lol
Regardless, the day one of those mutts don’t stop short is the gonna be the same night some family will be missing Fido.
