Do you tend prefer males or females and why? If you don't have a preference, what differences do you see between male and female bulldogs?

I like both but females in heat can be some real bitches then you have to deal with false pregnancies and heats every 6 months lol... I really don't see any difference other than sex parts ..lol Can't have one without the other so I have no real preference over the two I like both.. My females tend to have less patience for things or short fuses but that could just be my dogs.

Females protective of theirs when it comes to strangers....males could care lees as long as it dont have four legs. Females do have shorter fuses...I agree and tend to bitches every few months :-) I also find that males are more affectionate towards people. But...that's all opinion bases off my dogs that I've owned

Good males are a stones throw away, a good bitch is few and far between.

Why would a good bitch be harder to find than a good male?

That's interesting what Sadie and Kimo are saying. I've always heard people say that bitches make better pets. But if bitches are less tolerant and less affectionate, I would think males would be better for pets. I wonder if it's bloodline specific. What are other people's experiences?

Well, the way I see.. PureGameness spoke som gud shit ;-) On the other hand.. Depending on how a lot was bred yesterday.. U couldn't even get a bitch from said breeders.. Unless, U were fortunate :-) I myself.. Will take a bitch any day.. Just not 2day! Lol.. JMHO

I like bitches but ive only had females. Ive been around a lot of males and they always seem to be bigger babies and less independant but show more consitancy in thier tempermant. Ive meet awsome females and absolut bitches. like the saying goes “If you want a good dog, get a male. If you want a great dog, get a female and cross your fingers.”

When you say females are less consistent in their temperament, what do you mean? I've never noticed that.

Ive noticed a larger degree of seperation in females temperment than in males. Ive meet females that want absolutly nothing to do with anyone but thier owner and females that do the pitbull tapdance everytime someone comes around them. Out of all the males ive meet ive only found one than didnt want to climb in a lap and get love.

From my experience, bitches are much more affectionate towards their owners. Both my bitches have been love bugs and both my males could care less if I was around or not. That's only my experience with a few pets, but I have talked to a few people that have had similar experiences as me

One of the best dogs I owned was a female, not a man biter but very protective of her family myself and the wife and kids. She was nt a nut case towards people but if the kids were around she was nt having no part of anyone being near them or in her kennel. She was very close with my son, very good smart dog miss her everyday. Never really had a male who was protective although that's not a trait i'm to concerened with. But damn all my males cared and care about is what time dinner is and when we going for a walk lol. But the truth is a good female is hard to come by. Yis Ole Man

I've always prefered Females over males. Females will typically attach to the male of the house and they're usually less ADHD than intacked males. I have never noticed one sex being more proctective than the other, Both will fuck you up quick & fast like if you do something stupid around here lol.

I'd rather have a good bitch. You can always uses someone else stud dog but ask someone to borrow their best bitch and let me know how that goes for you

This. It's also funny when your bitch actively dislikes the lady of the house. Girls never seem to get along.

Yeah that's true from what I have seen too with my females they are def more clingy and protective almost motherly with their immediate family members and seem more aware of their surroundings and cautious where as the males don't give a shit they seem to be in their own silly little worlds lol..

Yeah,if I just was going to have one dog as a pet,no difference to me.But like you said if i was starting out and wanted a few good dogs,I would start with a good female, because good luck borrowing just anyone's dog. You can always find a stud though.
