OP I know what you are referencing the maxximum it had an extra letter added in the spelling. You wont find it. It was actually very good food the only good food Walmart ever had, the same as Petco super premium foods but the maxximum had Cobalt Carbonate also which most super premiums dont. For the price down here in Texas at HEB they have Evolve its oven baked and a super premium it is $18 15lb vs. Blue Buffalo and Wellness which are $30 15lb I dont feed it but have once before. Besides that good food costs, only other option Diamond All Natural its easier on the wallet but not as good of a food.

 

Wellness Core is great, I do like Diamond Naturals Extreme Athlete as well for an all stages food.

 

it worked for my dogs in the past,just like i think diamond brands is crap,it's all according what ur dog do well on

OP I cant speak for them but I dont think they knew exactly which food you were talking about, I assume they saw Walmart and reacted. If what I described above is the same thing you are talking about then dont worry because it Was a very good food, but now it is discontinued.

 

Maybe if dogs thrived on corn...You think Walmart actually has decent food? What do you feed?

 

However now Walmart does not have any good food at all. Stay away from Purina One and the OP last comment leads me to believe i am on my own when talking about the Maxximum that used to be sold at Walmarts in my area.

 

exactly what i was talking about,only had to feed very little and it keep the dogs very healthy and a real shiney coat.

 

Weve been feeding Purina since the 80's and so have alot more , with excellent results. Dog food is overated, IMO.

 

max nutrition is made by purina,just wanted to result back to what worked for me in the past,then our walmart stopped selling it.i've tried hi-tek but the dog didn't do well on that at all and why is corn such a big deal in dog food?

 

Understanding basic canine nutrition and science will help you in understanding what dog foods are good or not when you read the ingredients lists! I fed Purina ProPlan for the longest time and my dogs did great on it...when I switched to Canidae they didn't look and act that great so I switched back to Purina ProPlan....but I would never go back to feeding kibble as I feed raw now!

i just found a feed store 20 min. north of me that just opened and i snagged up some TOTW relatively cheap compared to what others spend. ive fed Diamand for maybe two decades now and ive always been happy with the results. im just curious if i'll see a difference with the Bison formula TOTW. (i like small stools ) if not, back to Diamond i go. i did like the ingredients in the TOTW tho

 

My fellow Texans this is the food I spoke about it is carried by HEB if its not at your HEB simply talk to the manager and they will order it no problem for the store. Best Super Premium Dog Food for the price.

I've fed the puppy formula with good results.

Good luck with the switch LD. You will see smaller stools with the TOTW but personally if it aint broke don't fix it if they're doing great on the Diamond. Whenever I look to buy dogfood I include how much it's going to cost me in gas to go out to a certain store vs another.
