I saw this video on Youtube: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W0zFACEhRs4&feature=fvw"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W0zFACEhRs4&feature=fvw[/ame]

I know next to nothing about hog hunting and was not aware dogs wear neck protectors like that. Do all hog hunters use these for their dogs or just some?

  2. most do, they also use cutvest, to protect even more of the dog. I plan on hunting soon and will run my dogs with vests and collars.

collars and cutvest are the best thing you can do to protect your dog during the hunt.

cutvest and collars are good to a point but ive got more dogs killed by using them than not ive just had bad luck with them

Just some mate, not all will use collars and vests.

None of my bailers use collars. I need them smart and wary.

i think that catchdogs should at least use a cut collar

stumbling unprotected upon a female hog does not bother me at all, but a male with cutters is another story

The only problem u run into if u hunt alot is a dog will have a heat stroke in the south during the summer if your not carefull, also u dont want a dog to get use to wearing a vest during the winter an then take it off them in the summer.I have personally saw dogs get careless when this has happened. I always used a good wide cut collar ,because the neck is very vulnerable , but they dont restrict movement a whole lot......

vests do not restrict movement, they do run hot in the summer, but face it your catchdog will only be on a hog as long as it takes you to make it to the bay, minutes, i use uglydogranches devistator with the collar and shoulder covers, its kevlar and last week a boars cutter got into the top layer and dubbed his cutter, so the vest is stronger than that boars tusk, shoulder protection is key

  11. I second the Uglydog vests and cut collars. I use the Guardian Kevlar from Uglydog.

  12. I will post a pic Sunday when I take my gyp out hunting.

  13. Here is another pic of my buddies dog Panda with his gear on. The one with him all vested up he just caught a 175 boar that my 14y/o daughter stuck with her new knife!
