just figured id post a couple pics of a neat little .22 i bought a couple months back. tears down like a 1911, but its scaled down to maybe 75% in size. function like a standard 1911 as well... grip safety, single action, and cocked and locked capability. its sights are GI style so it aint a target pistol by any means, but it sure is fun. the frame and slide are made of 7075 aircraft grade aluminum alloy, so ive been told it will hold up over the years as long as i dont feed it hyper velocity ammo.
the first couple mags thru it there were a couple failure to feeds, but since then its been 100% reliable with various ammo. my youngest daughter has had a blast with it (as have i) shooting paint cans, milk jugs filled with water and red food coloring, etc.
my only gripes are the price(oh well), the grips are plastic and i doubt i'll be able to find something fancier for it, it only came with one mag, but im sure i will find another one online.
otherwise its been a great addition to my collection... made in America. it has managed to take the seriousness out of shooting and brings back the fun.

I was just going to buy one, 22 cal Browning 1911 style.
Browning created the 1911 style gun.
They run a little over $500. up here new.
John Browning worked for Winchester and made the rifle that won the west!
I also have Browning 12 ga and Browning 30.06
Best gun maker in the world IMO.
You'll have a lot of fun with that pistol! :)

we've been burning thru ammo with it and everyone who shoots it loves it. i paid 479+tax, so it cost me a more than most .22s i have, but it was worth it imo.

my s&w 1911 gets more abuse than any of my other 1911 models (i can't justify beating up my kimber ultra cdp II or kimber tactical). for my birthday last year my wife got me a wilson combat .22 LR conversion for it.

you hit the nail on the head as usual woody, it brings the fun back in shooting. and it's fun for my nephew when we're at my sister's, he thinks he's the big dick when he's only 7 and he can put 15 rounds in the center of a paper plate with his uncle's full size 1911 as fast as he can pull the trigger. ;)

and thats where i felt id strayed away from...FUN... and i hadnt even realized it. its so easy to get so damn serious in this sport/hobby a fella can forget why they even fell in love with it in the first place. i have no shame in admitting it, i keep up on my weekly practice with my carry guns, but whenever someone called me outta the blue asking if i wanted to burn up some ammo, my first thoughts were "crap, i wanna save what ive reloaded and stockpiled...ammo is expensive" and then "my guns are all clean, i really dont wanna have to clean em when the shooting is over". i was getting lazy, and needed something to jumpstart my passion.

the .22 can still be shot up affordably so im happy as hell with this find. a "mini1911" chambered in .22lr that is made in UTAH! it just seemed fitting considering J.M.Brownings beginnings.

i loved the comment about your nephew thinking he has the "big dick" LOL...i choked on my morning java when i read that earlier.
good to see youre still checkin in CK, i enjoy talking guns with ya. take care
