It doesn't make any sense .....however you want to slice and dice it. If you have to have a gaurd dog go to pound and get a mut that will be gratefull for what you have to offer.....

Heck, I like Akitas too. I also like Chows, Shepherds, Dobies, etc. but I'm not going to cross them to my pit bulls!

There is too much BSL out there to be breeding pit bulls w/ guard-type dogs. An accident could too easily happen & it will be the pit bull who is blamed, not the other component breed or the irresponsible breeder.

And you confuse me by saying you don't want a pound mutt. What's the diff between a pitkita some irresponsible breeder puts out or the pitkita in the shelter? Are they not both pitkitas? Why is one a mutt & one not?

Also, if you want an old school Akita why not just import one from Japan? Or perhaps find a breeder in the U.S. who is using them in PP or schuzhund & buy from them?

 

loook i dont own many dogs i take care of my dogs and never let kennel fight happen i was doing akitas untill my first apbtl also they did add alitlle doby rott bull mastiff and gsd to this breed to make them protective but they only have small %s

 

they are geting a certan look every breeding and cull it just like we do only more for looks first

I sure hope you aren’t under the false impression breeding is simplistic as one saying the sire will pass “X” traits and the dam will produce “X” traits then bingo out comes the perfect litter! If breeding was that simple everyone would be able to “breed” with 100% consistency! What happens when you get all the NEGATIVE traits from each breed? Much better choices in a guard dog-research much more before getting something will save you a lot of time and money in the long run!

Shouldn’t the “more for looks” send the red flag a waving? How in the heck can anyone produce a working dog for said task when looks are a priority?

 

For looks?????????? and this is a working dog....go back and do your homework. I hope you aint looking at those bulldogs like that, your judgement is questionable.

 

If you want a guard dog get a Malinois or GSD. No mutt whether it has a fancy name or not will ever compare in guarding capabilities.

 

no they use two good hard working studs and dams they just are tring to perfect the look for the fci culling it for looks first and then working very close almosta tie but in at 2nd i hate gsd and most other fucked up breeds

 

That is insane.I own pit bulls as well as an akita.The thought of breeding them like that makes me sick.I would NEVER do that.Who ever is doing it needs to be culled.People like that is who make it hard on responsible owners to keep our dogs.Not only that Im sure that the 2 breeds together produce a man biter probably.

American Pit Bull Terrier is the gamest of dogs. I have heard of akitas (and almost every other breed) getting whupped by bulldogs half their size and I believe it. When you cross any breed with a REAL BULLDOG all you get is something less than a Bulldog and why would you want that.

 

Not sure exactly what you stated, but looks don't mean sh*t. *correction* Federation Cynologique Internationale (FCI) standard is not how I would classify a game dog...

 

Sorry to double post, but I don't believe the FCI even recognizes the APBT? I know in group 3 the terrier group APBT it is not listed? Nor is it in the group nomenclature.

 

thats becasue akitas were not developed as a fighting dog like the apbt was. They were used... but they were not desgined specifically for it

 

ok ...........history lesson akitas where the great japanese fighting dogs...till some people took there pit bull to japan...and really pissed off the japanese..our dog no good..so they made the tosa big but dont last...there are more akitas in america than japan..because japaneese are smart people...dog no good..you no good dog..you stupid dog..pitbulls have faced off against every thing ...all ways same out come..if you want a gaurd dog go to gaurd dogs .com...we breed history...and we breed fact..not fiction...any croos you can think of has been done and thats why its not a breed..the pups will never act alike,never look alike,..and i would hate to have someone ``bless me`` ..every time i said my dogs breed..
