new breed the pikita inu it is a new cross

i dont think there is any way you would get me to buy one of these dogs.i use guard dogs to protect my bulldogs at night what i do is i lock up my bulldogs in there kennels and let my dobermans out of the house it works for me because just the other night at 3:45 in the am they started raising hell wich woke me up then i heard screaming so i grabbed my shot gun and ran outside to see rosco holding a young kid by the leg and brandy wich is my female chasing the other kid around my yard so i fired a shot in the air and called the dogs off of em and when i asked em what the hell they was doing on my property they came right out a said they came to steal my one black male and all of my pups but they said they didnt know i had guard dogs left loose at night so i called the police and they took them away and they never did anything to rosco yet as far as the biting thing goes,also i should add that neither of these dogs are attack trained nor vicious they love children and people when i am there but when they are let out at night they know their job.but anyways just thought i would let y'all know what had happend while i am trying to fight off whatever put me in bed for the whole weekend when this all happend.also texas bulldogs and my self havent been agreeing latley on certain things but i do agree with everything he has posted on this topic,also i still think wisconsin dogs is a mouthy little pup who needs to learn more about dogs before he starts to have anything to do with any kind of dog.pitbull or otherwise.

 

I can't say that I would be very interested in yet another "hybrid" either. We have enuf hip dysplasia, breathing problems from smusshed in faces, eye problems with huge eyes, and hair for days and the like. For every little peekapoo and cockapoo etc. there is another badly bred dog with tons of problems. Sorry, just my opinion.

 

look i hear every one hating this new breed but i think it will be awsome to own this hybrid like i said akitas aree great i just want more driveand i think they will do it and do it right

 

thats cool...own what you want. i personally dont care what others keep in their yard. i dont think you'll get more "drive" by crossing the two breeds...there are plenty of apbt's with drive to spare! lol. i dont really see the advantages of this cross other than putting more human-aggressiveness into a dog...which isn't an advantage if you ask me. to each his own, just dont go puttin a whole bunch of "pit-kita" puppies in this world. another hard to handle race of dogs in the hands of irresponsible owners wouldn't be such a good idea.

 

well, here is my 2 cents. I dont think its a good idea at all, but if thats what you want, then that is why we are all different and individual people. And that is what makes us great. As for me, im a simple man with a simple APBT plan. There will be no other types of dogs in my yard PERIOD! guard or house pet. But, if some one thinks that the Akita-ken/Bull-Dog will work,,,,,,well we all will learn from their mistakes or success now wont we. I wouldn't convert. Faith. Game. Looks. Mental Perfection. All the atributes of an APBT. You wont get that from any other dog. At least in that order there is no arguing that. But that is my opinion, here till the next millinium.

 

Damn right. I live in Japan and this is everybit of true. Good on ya. I love it. Akitas were originally for the Emporers Protection here i think..then they tryed fighting them......they sucked. so now the Japanese hardly recognize them. That was great lockjaw.

 

The APBT was an Irish/English mutt that could fight. They were made up of Mastiff's, Terrior's, Hound's and other breeds to make what we have today. If the APBT could be crossed into another breed and become a well rounded Gamedog they would be doing it all the time. You don't hear about a Boxer Pit mix being a CH or GRCH so the idiot's need to quit breeding curs! The only working dog mix that I have read about that is doing anything is Hounds crossed with Pits to catch hogs but it still don't give you the total pakage. Just because other breeds fight don't mean they are game.

 

Look Japan and all you other guys i know the history of the akita very well read very many books on them They were fighters and were crossed with our breed and tosas to make them even better fighting dog as tosas were mixed with akitas they are alos the national animal of japan and retired from fighting because they said they were too valuable kinda like what is happening to th apbt and and like i said they added doby,rott,bull mastiff,gsd and platterdale terrier sure they will maybe never be as good as apbt but with a good program as they are using they will be good for guarding and will also be good big game hunting as well other things too let your mind expand dont be so closed minded its bad for u

 

My opinion on the pit Akita cross is bad idea. Sounds to me like all these other fad dogs Labradoodles, Shipoos, most lines of blues, whatever. If you want a guard dog get a Malinois, GSD, Rottweiler, Doberman, Caucasian Mastiff, etc. Hell, the best guard dog I ever seen was an old bird dog, English Pointer. I'd have dared someone to come sneaking around when he was out. And unlike Akita or pit, many of the above breeds are not overly dog agressive, so they won't be constantly fighting to get to your bulldogs..

 

Well Athough Nobody Wants One Of These Dogs (pikita Inu) They Are Not For Everyone Nor Are Many Dogs And These Dogs Are Not For The Week As Are Breed But Dam Alot Of People Are Respondeing About Somthing U Dont Like But There Is Only 1 Way To See What And How These Dogs Are See It For Yourself And What All U Think Is Probly Wrong These Guys Are Very Simular To Are Breed Miuns Facial Looks They Tend To Have Akita Looking Face

They retired it because it could not hold its own with the Bulldogs! If it was worth a crap they would not have crossed it to start. Think about what your saying man. Look, we cross bloodlines not breeds to keep the true bulldog anything else is a mixed up cur that will soon find out that this job ant fun for it. The breed ant broke so don't try to fix it by adding some crap that Japan stoped using.

good luck to ya with that. side story - had a friend who has a brother to two of my wifes females' dog get attacked by an akita. Taz (pictured below) went up to the big ass akita to say "hi" and got bitten right on the top of the nose.
and the akita was a female. not sayin this is representative of the breed...just sharin a pit/akita story

You really think this "cross" is gonna help the APBT in any way shape or form? Its still an APBT cross which means if BSL comes to your town because of your "guard dog" all pit bulls, apbts and crosses alike will be banned.

You have to think about what is best for the BREED you so call love .. not whats best for you! There are plenty of guard breeds that have "drive" etc etc..

A breed of dog isnt considered a breed until 2 of them bred together creates a standard litter. This dog is simply nothing more than a mix. You ask people what they think ..well I think doing this cross is a great way to not only dishonor the APBT but also the akitia. its true that when crossed to other breeds the APBT looses most of its prized traits.. reliablility and temperment around people,

People need to stop being so selfish when it comes to these dogs. There is no dog in the world that is exaclty like the APBT and has all its traits of being not only the ultimate family dog and companion but a hard worker who wont stop. Those who think otherwise need a big wake up. Caring what is on ones yard is so much different than caring that idiots are out ruining the breed and ruining it for the rest of us!

I think its a great way to yet again ruin the apbt /pit bull name and another sure fire way to bring BSL and bannings, not to mention the akita which already went through its "bad dog" phase..

You dont even know about guard dog training! You dont just get a dog bred to be a guard dog and have it trained and wala..instant guard dog! That dog needs to meet certain requirements in temperment, attitude, trainablility and so on. Even those dogs who show those dont make it! And if you are using some idiot trianing "guard dogs" in their back yard that can make any dog a guard dog, better get those peta and bsl loving fanatics rallying!

I might live in japan but i have many dogs in the US of A waiting for me to get home. If one simple breeding mistake were be placed and i had to come home to no dogs because someone thought it was a good idea to mix and make a mutt,,,,i would be pretty pissed. BSL is always looking for a reason to get rid of us. Dont give them that chance. Get a frickin doby, rotty, or sheppard. this way they cant say anything about the freakin bull dogs.
