It may sound weird, but I always thought it would be fun to be one of the bite dummies. I don't think I could train schutzhund, but I've always wanted to have a close-up of the dogs performing. A bite dummy is about as close as it gets. Unless you're being persued by a K9 corps officer. I wouldn't want to be that close though...

jessiepbg- I must be weird too because I would also like to try it. It's some kind of morbid curiosity. There is a woman trainer/behavioralist/something who teaches seminars about dog attacks on people, she owns an apbt and uses her dog in demos where she allows the attendants to wear the sleeve so that they can experience a dog coming at them and see how much force is put into an attack. It's hard not to get knocked off your feet when a dog hits you.

I linked a video to a past thread with malinois pulling men out of car windows. Those dogs were not trained as well though, they were very rough for the handlers to handle and they were snappy towards them and did not listen to commands as well (like the release)

I do get knocked down,,but thats good for the dogs,,we want them to think they won,,which gives them more confidence,,,its scary,,very scary the first time,,those decoys make some money doing that,,they get certified,,u have to know what your doing in big shows like that.
