a few months back i dragged a lil red pup home n
my dad got all weird n sentimental walkng round with this lil dog ( he hates dogs ) n starts tellin us bout his granddads “old family dogs” as in HIS direct family n how his father used to say his fathers dogs ate better than they did as they made the money . The dogs emigrated with the family from ireland to coalfields of scotland mid 1800s and where shipped back n forth for breeding , there was no money in travelling for matches .. He said his dad only kept a few dogs and felt bad for them dying out but had lost touch with alot of family this just before WW2 , had to write letters back then ( i'd lose touch to if i had to write ) . So there must have been more around than just his . Anyway long story short he said blue poll was definitely 100% in em cos his granddad used to say his father would stress that the blue polly dogs would put out the fire in their eyes . I cant prove any of this as they had more kids than money so no pics n far as i know nothing in writing .

There are REAL OFRN dogs in the UK!

 

From what bloodline...stick a ped up..... just curious Iv never heard of anyone importing OFRN dogs in to the Uk...

 

I can't post a ped because the breeder and owner don't want the ped posted. I can tell you this about the dogs: They are from one of the two only winning OFRN bloodlines, one is off winning parents and the other is off one of the best producing OFRN females alive.

I mean he/she did say off of ''winning'' dogs/stock so I can understand not being able to post a ped.

 

people post dogs off of winning stock every day why should it be different just because of the color of the dog?

 

The breeder and owner do not want the peds posted as I wrote in my previous post!

 

Then why mention them at all... I never heard of winning dogs from OFRN... not in recent times.. they tend to be bred for their pedigree and looks... and nothing else...

 

There are less than 20 working dogs the UK. Less than half are multiple winners. A handful are bred and never shown. All the fast lane dogs that work are bred to EU dogs.

Ireland has more US bred game dogs than the UK put together..... The working bulldawgs are not from that side of the pond.

Just easier to arrange I guess....

No different than state side and Mexican dogs, ...... figures I guess
