I agree. With DNA registration today I advise anyone getting a dog to get the DNA registration also. In 2010 if u are selling dogs give your friends the advantage of having DNA info on their dogs.

i really don't think it's a big deal. if a person ain't willing to put the time into knowing the folks behind the dog. im not to sure how serious they are about the dogs in the first place. there's nothing a pedigree can tell me then a few years of getting to know someone can't.

like a fella on here already mentioned, the DNA is the way to go. like he told me, say he has a bitch in heat that gets off the chain one night, goes over and gets bred by a pup we'll call male B. then comes to the front door and wakes him up. whats he gonna think? she got off and came up to the house, so he goes out and puts her back on her chain. well the next day he ties her up with the male A he intended on using, and continues to do so for the next week or so. well then, a couple months go by and pups are born, and he of course thinks pups are off the bitch and male A, not knowing about little shithead male B who got his first taste when nobody was looking.

we've all heard of stories like this, but i guess i never really thought about how usefull the DNA profiling can be. i even co-own a bitch whos sire is dna profiled, but when i bought her i didnt give two shits. its cheap, and after giving it some thought, its worth it imo.

oh and yes...i am all for knowing the men behind the dogs. that wont ever change

 

yes erieoutlaw that's exactly what im justifyin. beats me why anyone wants to buy dogs from folks they don't know in the first place? nobody forces anyone to buy dogs outside there own circle. if folks spent more time research the man behind the dogs instead of papers. theye would be more aware of what there getting. they don't say "a fool & his money are easily parted" for no reason now do they. paper hang'n ain't a new trend & more times then not there is some hang'n in all pedigree. big fucking deal if you got a bulldog & it produce more of the same what more can you ask for.......................PS DNA profile only tell you the parents. so if the parents were hung dogs then you can still have a product of paper hang'n. like i already posted there's nothing a pedigree / DNA profile can tell me then a few years of getting to know someone can't

 

Actually Lee D and ngo make great points... but I guess if you know the guy behind the dogs mistakes like the one Lee described can't happen.

 

i would think paperhanging is worse as a dog thief might only try that shit once or twice but hanging papers becomes a lifetime of lies JMO

I don't like it, but it has been part of the game and will always be part of it. I think no more of a DNA profiled dog than one that isn't. Who is to say the profiled dog's ped is right. Trust the people you are dealing with more than any paper, test and so on. I once got a pup from a well known breeder and from the time I picked him up from the airport I knew he wasn't bred like the papers said. After one look at him I did not care how he was bred. This male turned out to be a beast. So much so someone decided he was to good for me and took him. I wish I had a few more like him. I guess all you anti paper hangers would have never got one from Carver. I know of a few that were more than happy with there paper hung dogs.

 

condone? that's pretty hypocritical being in all most folks didn't breed all the dogs in there pedigree themselves. so if you have a dog that has a questionable breeding somewhere in the pedigree then you would be condoning it. i think a few of yall have RB,jeep,eli,bolio in your pedigree lol. yall are pots calling the kettle black because if MC or earl was still around & offerd you a dog you would jump all over that shit

I owned a bitch off the yankee/chata breeding and seen all of her siblings. I know the breeder and he has been out of dogs for sometime now (although i think he just got a guard dog). With all the commotion over this bulldog, not once did anyone question his worth because the oldtimers know its about the dog. These were the same people who were coming out of the wood works and through backdoors to get something off of him. Btw, that bitch is still around.....

theoretical question. lets say a fella has grch buck & dirty marry on there yard & makes a breeding. you seen the breeding & seen the pups whelped. he offers you one for free but for some reason he give you paper on a different dog. similar blood but different paper are you still going to cry about hung paper & refuse to take the dog?

 

I dont think DNA is the way to go with all the drama going on right now. Anything can be traced back to your yard whether you knew what was goin on or even sold a dog to the person busted or not. I dont like it but its part of the dogs so BB has a point eventhough i dont think highly of people who would hang papers.
