    Simple. Because by whatever circumstances a person acquired a bitch that proved herself to be worthy of breeding and the breeder doesn't know wherr the bitch came from or has too few facts to put their integrity on the line.

    Maybe.. But in reality, most people wouldn't be sharing peds at all in that situation or selling dogs publicly. Why paper and list a private dog as "unknown"? It usually is gonna happen when someone doesn't know.

    ...................Grandsire: DEF
    Sire: ABC
    ...................Granddam: DEF

    ...................Grandsire: Unknown
    Dam: ABC
    ...................Granddam: Unknown


    So at least one can trace back on that certain female later on.

    Sometimes unknown merely means it isn't in anyone's data base. It doesn't always mean the dog fell out of the sky or came running to someone's house off the road. They're all bred somehow. And often SOMEONE is out there who knows, data base or no.

    It IS good to see the honesty from one writing up a dog's breeding, admitting they don't know on some of the dogs, and list them as unknown.

    Good points TDK and I agree. I'd rather have a unknown in the ped of a true bulldog from a honest breeder over a complete pedigree from a dishonest breeder, any day.

    Key, I wouldn't. I wouldn't do business with anybody that I didn't trust, not even just dogs, but in life. I was just comparing the two and saying out of the two options, I'd take the first option every time.

    lets say you use someones stud, and they dont want their business out there and yot have to sell a pup. do you put the persons ped out there and ask for discretion or just hang a ped off 1 of your yardshitters?

    i dunno something comes up,$, the dog is just too annoying,etc. how this, the pups reach adulthood and theyre ok but you dont want to keep them all, forever.

    I don't let go of the papers on any of mine, most times its too somebody that already knows me and the dogs. If not somebody that was referred by them.... And you just gotta take my word for it lol
