I think it is more important if a dog, and the ancestors of the dog, is good for that work I need him for, than whichever dogbreed he is. I would not breed with every APBT or every PT, only with that ones who are useful for me.

I have a Patterdale/APBT mix, female, about 3 years old. She's bigger at around 40 pounds and has very course hair, skinny front legs and incredibly thick, well muscled back legs. She is fine with smaller animals but can trigger easily on another dog if she believes a conflict is imminent. Will not let up once engaged and has to be forcibly separated. Has been difficult to teach commands and has a very high motor. Overall, a great dog but definitely not a family pet for every household.

Here is a picture of a pitt/patterdale cross. Been bred back to a pitt to keep the look and the small size. He is 26lbs. attached is a pic next to a miniature dachshund for reference.

It is a 10 puppies litter, 3 puppies are white. This is Gwyneth, the only white female.

This is the mother of the puppies. A 100% Patterdale Terrier female.
    She is my best worker.

Is this cross more suitable for boar hunting?

I can't say it today, because the puppies are too young. Befor I had a 50% PT X 50% APBT litter. Some of them are very good for wild boar, but some not. For this litter I have bred my best 50% male to my best 100% female.
    Time will tell

An interesting thing is that I have more dog fighting problems with my Patterdale Terriers than with my APBTs and APBT-PT mixes.
One of my PT-females has killed two of my APBT-females. And one of my PT-males has killed another PT-male and a 50% male. All four kills were kennel accidents over a long-term of breeding and working them.
