    An Interview with Legend S.T.P
24 Champions and 5 Grand Champions
How did you get Started with Pit Bulls?
STP: Back in the late 60´s my partner xxx and I were into gaurd Dogs. We belong to a schutzhund club in South Jersey. We had a Bouvier and he went out in 1970 and we bought a Staffordshire Terrier. We were always interested in attack work and the Staffordshire loved it. At six months old he'd do a long hit and he loved the bite work. Around 1972 we met the late John Kicak and eventually got the telephone number of the Sporting Dog Journal and Started getting that magazine.
Where did you get your first Pit Bull?
STP: We got a dog from Jack Kelly that was sired by Fiorilla´s MOOTZIO, who was sired by Fiorilla´s Red KING a 2x winner from a Tudor x Corvino bloodline and out of Kelly´s DANCER who was a litter mate to Kelly´s CH. DRUMMER.
Did you get to Match him?
STP: No, she was a house dog. I got the next dog from Charles Sykes, who was out of Sykes`CHERRY and she was a litter mate to Sykes´SAMPSON, the dog that won over CH. Rascal.
At that time did you have anyone to look up too?
STP: We used to go over to Jack Kelly´s place. They had a spot in New York and on Sunday mornings we'd go over there and they would roll dogs and occasionally have some matches. We met Andre Giroux, Ozzie Stevens and the dog men from Rhode Island like Indian Eddie and Joe Goffart.
    How did S.T.P originate?
My partner xxx and I were the the originators. Then we got freindly with Mr. T and became partners with him and then Solo became a partner, he had been part of the Uptown Boys. Solo left the partnership about 1980 but the name stuck and we stayed S.T.P all these years.
You guys owned a lifetime of good dogs, which did you think were the best?
STP: Gr.CH. BUCK.. Gr.CH. JOHN BOY; Gr.CH. CANDY; CH. MAGGIE; and more recently Gr.CH. LUKANE.
Who are some of the best handlers and conditioners you have seen in the game?
STP: James Crenshaw, always sees to have a dog in exellent condition. Ozzie Stevens. The late Barney Fife and Ben Calloway always had their dogs in great condition."

    A story by Nitro...
"The Punisher" Inter'l Ch Maximums 3xW a dog bred by my good friend (MM) razzed and schooled at SSKnl's at it best by his master Nitro than shipped with confidence to our bro's YIS Gamedogs Philippines for his battles and back residing at his home SSKnl's.....! Ch Maximums came to our yard with 2 and half month of age when MM shipped him down from North to South East Coast with his littermate Shogun which got killed by an kennel accident lately. MM called me and said hey bro pick one of these two fella and take care till they are ready. When both pups arrived at my Kennel we took them off the box and it was clear from the first moment that CH Maximums Meridius Decimus 3xW will be our boy it was something like magic and spirit when I've seen him the first time and an inner feeling told me "he is the one".The one which revenge me" us"after we felt betrayed in some competitions cuz we are foreigners here and made this forced European Dogmen's quit the game like the great Kennel Combats Elite Mr. Tim, Aum"Rain" my ex partner and than my good friend MM at the end so we set down alone at SSKnl's! We never thought to quit and won't do ever cuz there was Ch Maximus and as he came in age i started schooling him. In all schoolings he showed us he won't quit he showed his Gameness as every scratch he did and do is a bullet scratch but we had one problem with him, some parts he did great and than the other we said no he's terrible and not ready bring him to top Events! Scepticism came up wasn't he the one what I thought at the beginning the one who will show them all what is a real Bulldog and making us proud!? Suddenly MM ringed me and said hey bro I'm coming down we do Maximus again and please drop his weight I want to see him at this scale and bring a good schooling mate a rough one which takes all out of him that we see what he got! The day came for Maximus and we had a meeting for his last school day after that we will decide what we doing with him. At this day some close friends came too as they wanted to see what's going and the dog we keeped so much hope....the show begun and it was just a pleasure to watch Maximus at this day when he proved all of us "I am the one"..... After a few chats with my good friend YIS when I told him what we got off of Inter'l Ch Optimus 4xW and Jilly 2xW which defeated Dogarmy in his living room close to 2 hours and 18en bullet scratches I shipped him down to the Philippines and all went like we planned.... In short order of 6 month only our boy became Ch Maximums 3xW have shown the world who he is and defeated one of the best kennel for his Inter'l Champion title Art of Siam and Warrior West Team in a punishment show and we proud to have him back home at SSKnl's Thailand... Thx to my friends "bro's" from the Philippines which did a fantastic job and YIS especially that you always at my side have been worry about my family and helped me out when life hit me hard as could and still hit me on and on... I'm honored to call you brother's...! SSKnl's Thailand by Nitro!

    GR CH SANTA'S MONGOOSE (5X)

When I first got into this game, I was told that if you could find a dog that could breath under water, bite like an alligator, and disregards pain, you would have an ace or should I say "Mongoose". I was fortunate enough to get him from my friend Havana Chico who had come into some unfortunate circumstances. To look at him you wouldn't think much. He'll lay on his back and play with puppies, let the birds drink water out of his bowl and in general live his life waiting for you to come home and scratch him behind the ear. But don't ever make him mad!
I was amazed to see the ability this little dog possessed, not only was he quick, he was impervious to pain. This is what made him the ace that he is. There have been many hard mouth dogs to come across a pit, although I have seen lots that couldn't take what they could dish out. The harder "Goose's" opponent would fight the more he liked it. In his five contract matches he destroyed all. The only one to live jumped the pit in 15 minutes. He took dogs apart, bite one got their attention, bite number two made them wish they were someplace else. There never was a need for bite three. He would almost condition himself loving to run, whether alongside you on a bike, or on a mill. Some of his offspring already show his characteristics.
It is my belief that sometime in the near future people will look into the background of a pedigree and hope to find his name. This is not a dog I bred, but was lucky enough to own. You always hear stories about how great a dog is, or was. But here is the culmination of what the old breeders strived for. Game, impervious to pain, and a love for the pit.

The editor asked me to add a little to those nice words about "Goose" as I DID breed him. And I can tell Mike where that "imperviousness to pain" comes from too! It is there because both of
Gr. Ch. "Mongoose's" parents, Rushin "Sabre" and Rushin "Cracker", were deep game dogs, as were many of the dogs before them. Dogs like his grandparents, "Stomper", "Tar Baby", "Bandit" and "Sissy", all game ones themselves. Not to mention ancestors like Ch. Rascal, Gr. Ch.Boomerang, Ch. Honeybunch, Gr. Ch. Pedro, the Plumbers' Black Diamond and so on.
His sire, "Sabre" or "Fuzzy" as I always called him, was a two time winner, one of those accomplished with a badly "wrenched" back but went on to out-scratch his opponent anyway! Because of it he could hardly walk for two weeks after the match and in fact still suffers the after effects to this day. But he still could scratch ...and scratch he did that day, taking home the "Best in Show" trophy and proving what a game dog he was!
"Goose's" dam, old "Cracker", was, if anything, even gamer! She produced so many game dogs for me that she became (through no actual plan of mine) the "foundation" of the "Rushin Line". So you see Mike, that gameness, that imperviousness to pain, was no accident. It was that old "legacy" passed down to him from his ancestors for many dozens of generations.
Mike didn't even mention that before he or Chico owned him, "Mongoose", in the hands of an idiot, survived being rolled with dogs 40lb. heavier than he and never made a bad sign!
I am proud to say I bred that little dog, and happy that I encountered this great and GAME breed which is unlike any other
    Historical
    GR CH Santa’s Mongoose
Bred by Rushin Kennels, Mongoose or “Goose” as he is commonly called won his first three for the Havana Boys. Havana Chico ran into some problems and had to sell him, which is when we acquired him and finished him off for his Grand Championship.
It is hard to describe Goose’s “Pit Manor”. You would put him in the box and he seemed to know that he was going to win. While the other dog looked angry and anxious, Goose always seemed calm and determined. Once the ref. announced “Release”, he would trot at a medium pace and meet the dog in the center. It was once they met Goose showed his true splendor. Goose was the kind of a dog that fought from his heart straight to his mouth, not the other way around like a lot of hardmouthed dogs do. He would walk into ten hits just to get his one, and when he did the other dog would look up at you, his eyes seeming to say, “Why couldn’t I have been born a Poodle?” He never shook real hard or bit sporadically. He would just grab a leg and sink his teeth into it until it broke, then he’d move to another leg. After that, if the other dog was willing or able to scratch, he would hit the chest. This would accomplish putting the dog out of his misery most times, except for the case when the other dog had enough juice left in him to jump the wall.
Goose was not only tremendous in the box, but he was good around people too. He always seemed to be relaxed, not barking much either. He’d sit and let birds bathe in his water bowl, and roll on his back to let puppies nip at his chest and his feet. And as soon as you showed him the mill, he would jump right on and practically condition himself, hardly stopping to take a deep breath. You couldn’t ask for a better dog, he was an “Ace”, and anyone who has seen him go will agree, I’m sure.
Goose is currently under the watchful eye of a close friend, Mr. Bill. Bill’s medical knowledge has made it possible for Goose to still be with us. I am glad to say, Goose is alive and well because of it. Grand Champion Goose now waits to be bred, and have his offspring make him a Register of Merit. Of the dogs he has already put on the ground there are several winners. Hemlock’s Badger 1xw in 1 hr. 14 min., Havana Chico’s Goose Jr. 1xw in 3hrs!!!, and Mr. Bill’s Ms. Goose 2xw.

TEAM BYC'S DEADGAME CHAMPION "CODE" 4xW

Code was sired by Grand Champion Mayday ROM and his dam was Trowey's Nitrous off of H.O.E.'s Champion Bumper and Whitley's Biddy. Direct from Southern Kennels.
His first one went into a dog named Red at 45 pounds. This was Team BYC's first time putting a dog on a keep by himself. He brought Code in at 40 and red was right on at 45. Dogs were washed and the match started. Red was all over Code for the first 20 minutes. Then Code took over and a turn was called. Red completed his scratch and went on for about another 25 minutes when another turn was called and Red stood the line and was counted out.
His second one went into a heavy Jeep dog from Pro Line Kennels named Jo at 43. Before the match spectators were saying that Jo would make Code quit before the 20 minute mark. Come match day, it went vice versa. Code was in control all the way. He dislocated Jo's shoulder in 10 minutes and caught him in the throat. Jo's owner asked to scratch to continue and Code's owner said ok. Little did he know, Jo's shoulder was too busted up and couldn't even stand. He took the count at 15 minutes and Code was declared 2X winner.
For his championship match he went into the Grand Champion Lukane bloodline against a dog named Bear 1X winner at 43. Team BYC had lost to this dog before with a dog from Krazyside Kennels and wanted some more of him with Code. Both dogs were even until the 30 minute mark then Code took over. After dislocating both of Bear's shoulders and one scratch each. Bear fell down and couldn't continue. There for making Code a Champion.
For his fourth Code went into a 2X winner from Gamedog Kennels, named Sonic, at 44. This dog was hand picked to curr out Code. Code proved to be dead game in this match after it looked like he completely passed out, he came back to make his scratches. Sonic was punishing Code the entire match but when it all came down, Sonic stood the line at the 1:05 mark. He was counted out. After this match Champion Code got the respect he deserved. Due to the fact that the other handler was fouling all night and Code looked dead in the []. Yet he still came out on top. Gamedog Kennels were saying that Champion Code's win over Sonic was luck because Sonic bit his handler and Sonic was dropped hard puncturing his lung... haha. I really don't care how you win, as long as your win is legit. If your dog stood the line then he simply was not game enough and should have been culled.

BINGO KNLS GR CH BOOGIE BOY (POR)...
    He won over CH.MUGGY MUSA,
CH KID 4W and GR CH MALI CEDA, never going over 50 min.
This is the match of Gr Ch Boogey boy when he won in 3 min....
BOOGIE BOY was born in the yard of Ritter Kennels from Serbia. His sire was Ritter Kennels’ GAMBO (Hammonds’ LITTLE WILL x Alloya SHERRY) who was bred to a good producing female Ritter Kennels’ INKA R.O.M. She was out of the well known Cune’s IRON KID x Timotije’s TEA. Basicly, BOOGIE BOY was 3/4 from Hammonds breeding and lA of Country Boys blood through Timotije’s TEA.
Boogie was an early starter and his schooling started at a young age, he showed to be a very talented match dog. He won his first match for his owners in only 3 mins, silencing his opponent Zoran’s CRNI with one single hold. Right after that he was sold to Bingo Kennels where he continued his matching career. His 2nd match was into Smesko’s BLEKI who was belly brother to Putina’s CH. GIROUX JR. 4W. That was the toughest match for BOOGIE BOY, he couldn’t make a single hold for the first half hour and suffered lots of damage on his head. But after 40 mins he finally hit the belly and private parts of BLEKI and it was all over fast. BLEKI was history at 42 min mark. BOOGIE BOY needed long recovery after that match.
After some time of rest, he was contracted for his Championship match against Muggy Line’ MUSA 2x winner, who had reputation of brutal chest dog. BOOGIE BOY beat him in 49 min and became Champion. MUSA recovered after and won one match after and became Champion as well.
His 4th and easiest match was against Novo Selo’s CH. KID 4W at 15,5 kg. Match was in May, 1999. CH.KID won in long matches, but he couldn’t do nothing to stop CH.BOOGIE BOY and KID was picked up after 32 mins.
Now BOY was a 4x winner and Bingo Kennels wanted to match him against the best at his weight and he finds Mickey’s GR. CH. MALI CEDA,who accepted his challenge and took his retired warrior once more into the ring. It was a great match, fast start for both where they showed that they were very talented fighters. It was stifle to stifle, very fast pace and lots of good action. Both dogs scratched fast 2 times, but it was BOOGIE BOY who was more fresh to finish and had more strength. At the 42 min mark it was obviously that MALI CEDA couldn’t keep up and Mickey picked up his warrior wisely. Both dogs ran their courtesy scratches, but MALI CHEDA lost his Grand Championship title and gived it to the younger BOOGIE BOY. It was a really spectacular match and everybody was pleased to be there. After that match GR. CH. BOOGIE BOY was retired for breeding purposes at the yard of Bingo Kennels where he live untill today and still siring pups. So far he produced several winners, he was matched between 14,8 – 16 kg ( 32,5 – 35,2 lbs).
