J.P. Colby would buy the Bulldog's from immigrants right off the boat. He also helped find jobs, housing ect.

But they just did not sell their dogs ... they did not because their dogs were their pride and joy ... those were family bred dogs kept in very tight circles (clans ?) and they for sure did not just sell their dogs to a Welsh right off the boat. You still might believe in fairy tales, I believe in truth ... even in the dog game.

For Real ??? You and your family come across the Ocean to America for a new life. You say they wouldn't sell a dog??? Man folks have sold there children, wife's, ect. Still do today for that matter. J.P. Colby and his wife Florence were Good Honest People. 95% of all Bulldog's ancestry today if there pedigree is honest, you will end up back at the Colby yard. Fact. Now we all know that the original Colby Bulldog's are more of a artifact if you will or pet bull these days which is a shame. That's because Louis Colby biggest nightmare was for the powers that be to come over and lock him up, kill his dogs ect. So when the came to Floyed Bureaux home on a hot summer day and raided his home ect. All Lou Colby's match records were sealed. Fact. The Hunterman opened up a few on f.b. about 2 years ago and Pete Colby Sr had a fit to say it nicely , The Hunterman deleted them. I'm not on gamedog to debate The Colby family or their lineage of Bulldog's. A little known fact about the Colby hounds is according to Adba, Ukc, There the purest strain of any Dog on the planet. The Japanese Akira is said to go back around 4000 years. However on paper The Colby Dogs are the purest. At on time ADBA & UKC were going to actually call the Colby strain, Colby Dogs instead of group, Colby American Pitbull Terrier . Mr Lou wasn't in agreement with that. I don't know based on the history we have on hand or any one on this planet that bred as many Winning Bulldog's as J.P. Colby did. Back to photos.
