I don't buy that...what does something being illegal or illegal have anything to do with looking at and testing your own dogs?..most dog men in usa breed for pretty peds..and internet has ruined everything imo..I find in general dogmen in other countries very serious and making habit of breeding best to best

Any time it is 'easier' to get away with an illegal activity that activity will/can flourish.

Testing your own dogs is illegal. But if you live on the end of the dirt road on a 100acre farm it is 'easier' for you to test your own dogs than if you lived on the fourth floor of an apartment complex. Partly because of actual location but mostly because no one is there to stick there nose in your business.

The guy that can test the most will have the best.

The post was meant to say just that, the rest of the world caught up with the USA after the dogs were exported to places where locals were 'allowed' to test their dogs and a lot of that can be attributed to is they had bigger problems to worry about.

I agree the number of dogs being bred for papers is ever increasing.

And there isn't a minute's difference between tow serious dog men breeding good dogs if they live here in the US or abroad.

I mean he wouldn't be the first or last to do it. I knew someone who would do that regularly.

Whole different topic altogether but for some reason most people attribute culling to be about curs. It is a much deeper conversation than just removing curs from the gene pool.

If the idea is to make game dogs a person can be wildly successful breeding game dogs and only game dogs. That would be done by removing curs.

If the idea is to make winners then sometimes a game dog that can't be a winning dog does not fit into that person's program. They move on without that dog.

In that situation 'culling' from an individual program can be done by selling the dog or giving the dog away, or any other means so he will no longer be introduced into said gene pool.

Removing curs is a given, or should be a given, but removing curs is the smallest portion of culling.

If one were to think about curs being the smallest portion of the process, then re-read the statement about a person having to be as game as their dogs. It has nothing to do with going out and personally taking an ass kicking or a beating and continuing. It is all about the process to get to the next winner.
