poop eaters

my friend has a pup about 12wks old thats a pop eater,is there anything that can be done to deter this???

 

sometimes they need more food or better food . and some just do it . clean up as soon as you can to keep the poo away .

 

you can try adding pineapple to the food or there are pills you can buy at the pet store that will stop poop eating (also known as coprophagia). A few brand names for the pills are Deter, Excel, and Potty Mouth

i know in many kibbles theres added flavour(s). a pup smells this in the p00p and he thinks its something nice.

 

It's a behaviour problem in most cases.

 

How bout tellin ya friend to pick as soon as possible? I have a yard full of shiteaters, myself. I make rounds with a rake once a day, and cant and wont cath them all..

 

My opinion is that they dont fully digest the kibble and they sense it as still food. Never had one to do it on raw.

 

we have given Bandit the pills and he will slack off abit but doesn't stop. if i can get to the turds first they get picked up, but he keeps the yard pretty clean most of the time. with a completly raw diet the turds are all together different. I find them alot more when I feed that way. they turn white and flake away if not cleaned up within a day or two.

 

bgblok68 got it right . try feeding diamond , it digestes good . and clean up after they eat . most dogs will empty after they eat .

 

With you old goat. Pups digest quick and he may be hungry and the poop still has some of the nutrients/flavors in it. I clean me dogs poop up every day , but they wouldnt eat never have.

 

go to petco, they have pills that help with this issue.

 

It is typical of this breed, f***ng dogs just love it, tell him to try to scoop the poop as soon as possible.

Its not a lack of pills in the dogs diet that makes it eat shit. If you have a flat tire do you just keep putting air in it or do you patch it?

 

My dog was a turd eating sob pills didn't work or pineapple but i started putting water in his food to soften it up alil to digest better he hasn't eaten shit since

 

...change food...or add good vitiam.....potash..../etc
