Agree with all of the above but I will play the devil’s advocate. Most really expensive bulldogs get a pass in order to sell puppies on order to recoup the initial investment. I chose my favorite line of dogs, never seen the value in making anything mine, seen no need to breed dogs when I could buy exactly what I wanted for $300. With that available 35 minutes from home i often scoffed as the prices increased across the board.

Oh for sure. Seen it with many of the machobuck dogs about ten or 15 years ago. They was going for such high prices that people were just breeding them immediately as soon as they could to recoup. Very true statement. They then became "too valuable to check" to the owners. Definitely a slippery slope.

Its still happening over here, people buying dogs from U.S , Mexico. They put them as stud dogs , breeding and selling pups to local people for huge money, with a part off that money they import more dogs from U.S and other oversea countrys , dogs you cant find easy over here and the rest off the money they invest in other stuff and the same proces go on. i have seeing alot off people getting rich with doing this. A lot off newbies are their money source. Weird things this guys put more effort in their advertising , Using Words , text like “uniek dogs in europe or Balkan” This Guys are not breeding they are just farming and getting more rich. They just foucus on the papers. You breed to get better dogs and not a fansy ped.
it takes a very knowledgable person to breed dogs that are really worth something. Breeding for money is easy but breeding to better dogs take a very serious proces.

If a person puts in the time and work and sells puppies for a price, regardless of price, (a buyer/seller decision) or sells dogs for a price no one sees a problem with that transaction as a whole.

If another person buys two dogs from the person that put in the time and work and sells puppies/dogs for more or less there are issues to be had.

The kicker is that the original breeder who did all the right things has to eat the shit put out by the guy breeding his dogs.

That becomes the disconnect in paying a lot of money for a dog. I have been in and around these dogs for an awful long time and I can say on average, the expensive dog gets a pass that cheaper dogs do not in order to get to the brood box. It does not matter the guy that did the work or the particular bloodline. On average, the more that is paid the less that is done.

    That becomes the slippery slope.

I just saw a M & F pup for sale on another site for $750 and they are incredibly bred. Based on dog(s) that have carried the mail in the rain, the snow and the heat. Comparing these and what I know to what I see advertised everyday.....this is a less than fair price for the seller and I feel like at $750 in today's market this is a better deal for the buyer. And at $750 I feel like the dogs are more apt to get a fair shake and down the road and there should be some of the proof we look for in the pudding.

My opinion on prices is singularly my own. It has zero weight in these conversations. I had an advantage most do not get. I chose a family or the family chose me (LOL) and the source sold puppies incredibly cheap/way cheaper than most even as the prices started to sky-rocket. The source was a 35-40 minute drive. Once that relationship was built over the years there were a number of "come get this one and let me know how it works out" which translates to free. Then couple the things above in the fact I am indeed incredibly cheap. You should hear me bitch and moan at the gas pump or the grocery store. I make it sound like I have been a victim of a robbery.

If I did not have my personal experiences and I had to pay as the market suggests I would more than likely have a different opinion.

Again, great topic. it never gets boring beating this dead horse. LOL

I agree with all off the above. My mind telling me the same all off the time. Long story short. I want to add a little bit from mine thoughts to your thoughts. Nobody want to throw his money in trash. Saying this after seeing it all. I did consider when people pay a lot off money for their dog , they are less hard in their work, This happend many times, i can put a lot off examples here. They buy a dog for big money , they see the dog is not worth anything but they keep breeding this dogs just because they paid a lot off money for this dog, they let the pedigree do the work but not the dog. At the end off the day they dont dare to culling. Because all is about money for them .i have also seeing , before they get the pup or dog they already planning a lot off combinations and they even dare to put it online.IMO than dogs become cures and they start to blame the source breeder.LOL

No matter what anyone pays for their stock. There is always going to be two train of thought. Those that are going to do right by the dogs and those that aren't. They paid 68k for barracuda and them dogs got worked. They paid 500 for cracker Jack and them dogs got worked. They couldn't give hank away and them dogs got worked. I have got dogs out the bargain trader magazine from joe deloach for 300 and we're grandkids of midnight cowboy and went to Mexico for a lot more. Price don't factor because it's the man behind the dog that's the biggest factor.

There's are some Real people in the Bulldog world who have kept in touch with me and even sent me pups , adolescent"s ect back over the years. Im thankful for my man Jay who I placed a pair of Boyels pups with and he has stayed up in touch with me through out. A ped of a pair of pups I'm getting back from my man. http://apbt.online-pedigrees.com/modules.php?name=Public&file=printPedigree&dog_id=753438

This is a thread about price. I have no problem with what a man sells or buys his or hers bulldogs for. The Best Bulldogs I've been able to get came right here on gamedog for 300 - a 500 pup . Having said that I take great care of my hound's. Anyone whether they care for old Dex or not will agree to this fact. My Bulldogs are Loved, Healthy, Happy Clean living areas ect. I had lots of folks over years complement me. Is there room for improvement? Absolutely..
