    Possibly.

    It is one of those old south sayings as well.

    "I'm 52 and Mr. Whitley was an old man when I was a little bitty boy".

    Much respect and if he had peddled or sold some of those dogs back then more people would be talking about him now. He kept those original "Red Boy" dogs. Big, enjoyed the trade and slow, but would scratch to a sign post.....all night/no matter.

    No doubts. We put off several trips to see Mr. Stevens a number of years ago. Things kept coming up and we put it off and put it off.

    Then all of a sudden it was no longer an option.

    BB, you are right. Take advantage of what we have now.

    We had some of the old Robinson/whitley stuff and loved it. There was a stretch my buddy was buying all of it he could find. Good dogs.

    RIP.

    On another note I'm gonna force myself to go out to tdks next week when I'm off. Keep saying I need to go but work, life, and dogs seem to always sidetrack me going. I'll update everyone on how he is when I go.

    I remember making trips to see RE Bass back in the mid/late 80's before he passed. Those stories about Katie when his wife wasn't around to hear lol. Then gone...

    From my understanding bass was really just a hang a round who was after Katie. She had all the dogs at her place.
