Discussion in 'Dog Discussion' started by lockjawpitz, May 9, 2004.

  1. she is 8 months old Avant/benedict's bloodline i got her as a gift from my friends breeder,,,i heard that male dogs or more protective........Can females be just as protective as males? i live by myself in a big house its not that i want her to be mean but i would like her to be alert and protective of the property, yall guys might say you should'nt have a pit if you want a guard dog but i perfer the dog becuase i enjoy being with her shes a good dog.i just want her to be protective over me i had 3 guys break into my house in the past 2 years.

Pits usually arent the best dog for protection a couple of my friends have pits and they are not the best dogs for watching a house now maybe with a little training you can have a decent watch dog most pits are to friendly.Alot of people get the impression that pits are the best watch dogs but that is far from the truth. If you want a dog to watch over your property maybe you should look at a Mastiff or Rottwieler or german sheperd.
