Never heard of the organization but thanks for your service. I am glad you can understand that we are not a bunch of evil ones because we keep our dogs in different environments. We must all remember that these are indeed animals and not human in any way, shape or form. It is fine that some spoil them and I am guilty of spoiling dogs as well. However I don't see where those like me love our dogs any less than those that keep them inside like they are children. It all rides on who's version of loving an animal you are into. To me it is odd to have dogs inside all the time. To another it may seem odd that we don't. However in extreme cases both can be wrong. And just because a dog doesn't have a bowl of food in its face 24/7 doesn't meen it isn't being fed the proper amount of feed in a day. It doesn't take all day to eat a meal and with all creatures you just can't and should not eat every waking second. If you leave food out all day it gets contaminated and spoils, not to mention incubates bacteria and mold spores. Also a havest site for insect larva. Inside or out side.

There isn't a dang thing in a city for me. And a dog or livestock thief is coyote or buzzard feed here. Unless I am getting feed and supplies I am here. When I am not here a farm hand is. And they know to use the shot gun just as good as me. Death is the only method that reforms a thief and it is the only way that they will ever give back to the soil what they have drained of it so far in life. My dogs I will kill for. And anything else a thief feels is worth its rotten misserable life too. You know you can domesticate deer, coon and skunks too? Yep sure can. Just about any animal and some aquatic life can be trained, tamed and taught to intereact with humans. Or at least tollerate the stinking things. For the life of me I don't see what some animals see in half the human population if not more. Free food I reckon. Animals are pretty smart they lay around all day licking themselves and some person works their ass off to feed them. what a life. And then there are cats. They don't work for nothing and don't even like ya half the time and yet there are those people MYDAWGS lol that have them. and love them eeewww yuck.

Oh and if you keep dogs inside crate them, even in a different room a APBT has been known to go through dry wall, break doors (remember interior doors are crap and hollow), and even pannel board. Crate and make sure that the crate is securely shut and in a different room. Other wise even your most valor of attempts will fail at some point. My great Grandma raised poodles and those things would even kill one another at times. But back then no one made much a fuss over that stuff. It was to be expected and some felt it was the order it was ment to be. They raised the dang things for some sort of hunting. I hated those dogs. They would bite people and I don't like getting bit. I shoot a dog for bitting me. So needless to say they put them rotten shits up when GrGrandpa and I were going hunting. I use the APBT and at that time the Black and Tan Hound along with them for Bay. Now I am using a walker and South Texas Cur for Bay and A buddy has some Blue ticks he runs as well with me. any how I wouldn't let them poodlely dogs run with mine. I would be to badly tempted to accedently let go of my leads. Ooopppsss! lol Friends don't let friends own poodles. ha. Those are for old ladies not men. They can protect granny. I can't stand a dog that bites for no damn reason like that. I got bit while helping a friend move a few weeks ago and yup it was a poodle. That rotten little shit should have been on a chain or in a box stuck in some room far from human contact. Or better yet made into a slipper.

Wow, we certainly are from 2 totally different worlds. :D

On a side note, in the 4 years I've been working with these dogs I have never had one break out of a crate or room to get to another dog. I think part of that is that I have a different kind of Pit Bull here. Mine are dog aggressive, yes, but not like some of you are describing.

Maybe because it's been so many years of watering down their heritage. I can guarantee the "breeders" I got my dogs from cared nothing about game, or keeping things true to the standard.

Also, when we pull a dog from the shelter to foster, all sorts of things go into picking the right one to put in my home. With as many dogs as I have, you bet we are choosing the coldest Pit there. I mean, I like having lots of dogs, but I'm not that crazy. :p

When we pulled Tucker, it was between him and another male dog (male dogs do better in my home than females, my resident bitch can be, well, a bitch)
The other dog went after Tucker, and Tucker didn't fight back. The poor guy has some HORRIBLE scaring on his neck though. One very large scar we were told was definitely from a dog bite/tear, and the other scar is a knife wound!
    People are so wonderful.

Anyway, once we got Tucker home, got some meat on his bones, rid him of his worms and Giardia, we started slow intro's. In watching him meet new dogs I realized why the other dog at the shelter attacked him. He trots in the room like he's king sh*t. Holds his tail straight up and stiff, puffs out his chest and acts just all around dominant. That would explain why when he met my male Bastian, it did not go well. Once again, Tucker acted like a jerk, Bastian went after him, and Tucker did not fight back. I got them seperated quick and noone was hurt. This to me is not a real fight though. This was more my male trying to show Tucker who's boss. I don't know if Tucker got the memo, and we'll never find out because I'm not letting them meet again.

When Tucker is in his crate though, Bastian can lay right in front of it and neither dogs react. Dorks.

I guess my point is, where some of you purposely pick the gamiest, driveist dogs I pick the exact opposite. All of my dogs are pretty lazy, and that works for me.

Thanks! I would hope we have a good reputation, we try very hard to make the right decisions without hurting anyone in the process. That can be tough at times.

    I am so VERY SORRY!

Please, accept my apologies, I made a post in hast, which was totally uncalled for. I was totally rude and uncaring to you, and I regret it.

I'm sure there is nothing I can do to rectify the damage that I have done, but if a mod could move the part of the thread where I totally effed it, that would be great.

I had a knee-jerk reaction after lurking on this board for a while, and the proper thing to do would have been to start a new thread, Unfortunately I did not do that, and again, I apologize. Once it got rolling, I got so caught up in what was being posted that I lost sight of what the original thread was about.

Again, please accept my most heart felt apology, it was in my own selfish ignorance that I ruined your memorial, and for that, I am truly sorry.

On a more on topic subject, I believe someone asked how 2 of your dogs' equipment failed and you lost a dog....maybe you could answer that. I will no longer post on this thread though.
