I was not in work that day. A week later, I went back to work and it was surreal. I still couldn't believe that my towers were gone. I walked as far as I could up to the burning towers. The heat was unreal. The streets were covered with what felt like sand. I saw burned papers all over, pieces of metal and I'm sure the ashes of bodies. The further I got the more intense it was. And the smell was horrific. The smell didn't go away for many months. The city had army tanks all over the place for months. And that's when the K-9 dogs were brought in.

My building put K-9s in place, as many other buildings did. We also had a scanning machine, like the airports have. Every time we came into the building we had to scan everything. If we left the building we had to have everything scanned again when we came back in.

All I kept thinking was how the hell will they ever be able to clean up downtown Manhattan and build up again. But they did.

    The Sphere survived.

What is there now, the reflection ponds where the trade center stood:

Thoughts and prayers to the friends and families who lost loved ones that day.

    Sad times.

If we do nothing else, we bounce back.

    Nice photos.
