IMO more people are using the rep. thing, but for the wrong reasons. They seem to use it more for black-balling others with different opinions, than for rewarding useful info. or discouraging useless idiocy. If anyone needs an example of this sillyness look at the last couple rep. points on mine.....LMAO. If I'm wrong and this is the way it's meant to be, then I've been doing it wrong. And need to get to work on some people I have a difference of opinion with..... :D hehehe

No Crash, I dont think its supposed to be like that. But there are a few people on here that sure think so. They forget what we're on here for and thats the DOGS.

You just keep doing what your doing..no use to stooping down to others its my way or the highway attitudes lol

IMO....putting the name along with the reputation comment might keep everyone honest. Just a thought.

Glad to see this thread pop up. The other day I was veiwing my profile to see other options and noticed I had some reputation points. At first I did'nt know if it was good or bad until I read them. But I still didn't know what they were for, how to do the same for others and what they did. Well now I know.

how many bad reps does it take to get banned and if you get a lot of good reps what happens.

if you're rep points get low people will not be able to see you're post.everbody has a rep filter that is set at a certain number of points i believe it is -1. so if you go below -1 on rep people cannot see you're post unless they change their rep. filter. shon can probally explain it a little better but hope that helps some. i do not believe you can get banned from low rep points.

hmm yeah, i got some of this also. it says i have 9 points. but i can only see like 5 of them. im assuming they are the most recent. i think we should be able to see who left us the rep points. and people who give stupid negitive rep points like "bad grammer" like i got should be band from giving rep points as bad grammer has nothing to do with the dogs. or pretty puppies, etc.. they have nothing to do with a persons contribution to the publics knowledge and awareness of the breed. i think people not being able to see who gave them the points just gives some currs a way to hide. if ur going to say it u should atleast stand behind your convictions. to this date i have not givin anyone any rep points as i see alot of bandwagon people just repeating the same thing that seems to be the popular stance on the topic. which is kinda sad, people need to learn to stop following the bandwagon and lead their own lives and learn to think and act on their own account. or else someone who goes agianst the grain, but prooves a good point wouldnt be able to have their voice heard for not just blindly agreeing like the rest of the followers who cant think for themselves.

    pm me shon

  15. I could be wrong but, I think the only thing that has changed it the icon for the reputation..it is now a scale on the top right hand corner of the members POST......

    #1 [IMG] [IMG]

The little grey scale in the middle is the icon for reputation!
Admin or mods if something else has changed, could you please correct me! Thanks!
Been a lot of people that have been asking about this lately..thought I would bring it back to life...

    Re: REPUTATION System

Why? So they can get harassed?

If people are afraid of leaving bad reputation because of the possibility of harassment from other users, it renders the reputation filter useless. And that is exactly what would happen if people can see who is leaving bad rep.

Usually, if you got a bad reputation point, you deserved it. It may not be deserved 100% of the time but you can always make up for it by making a truly good post down the line.

  18. Re: REPUTATION System

Like Tommy said...for what reason, paying them back, by giving them bad rep when it is not deserved? People do that already...very childish....Most all reps left were left for a reason...good or bad.
Some of the things you are inquiring about....well lets just say that you will have to stick around the site much longer to find out why what was left on you..was left...

Like was said before anyways..It DOES tell you.......If you REALLY want to know, send your payment in to Marty and the board and become a premium member......
Where there is a will there is a way.....

This is already happening....everyday...very childish....you leave rep because you feel as though it was a bad post...they find out it was you and they in return leave you bad rep for something that is quite obvious good.....
