Write your own pedigrees and that way you'll never have to worry about folks changing them.

Around 57:45 of part 4, cloning was brought up in the (if only he could) discussion and yes Uncle Bud was named along with Joe Testament, Raisin and Sailor. Mad rates the Uncle Chunk dog as being of the same high calibre.

Any if y'all catch the Maddog Parker interviews? Interesting. Appearently there is a lil more Stu Fowler and ol Boomerang in our Sorrells dogs than Bert wanted us to know. Interetesting to get some info on how the dogs have changed over the years.
More confusion about what is what in the blood, always makes the "paper breeders" get bent out of shape. Sitting around drooling over a pedigree while their dogs sits on their couch.:-()

Come to think of it I really can't think of anyone else having as much success with them buckshot dogs as mad/skip did?

Hard to win with someone else recipe unless you was close and know everything. Not saying it's impossible either.

Nobody had as much success I would say but some did have success with it.Just not on Mad and Skip level.

What was said about Bert Sorrells and his dogs are not new to His dogs or the breed in general.

If more tell the stories ,then more would look funny about what they feed if thy already don't.
I have always went by "you only know what you see", Believe known of what out hear & 1/2 of what you see and all pedigrees are only 1/2 truths.
The ADBA had a 2 part series on GR CH Buck and how his papers were funny stile and not bred as such. Allot of dogs and families of dogs are like that.
I and others still use them in our dogs.
Makes no sense to throw out the baby with the bath water just because it's dirty.
Maybe now youngsters should start getting the picture & understand why you breed your own and focus on your own name!
It was more like myself in the past who built families from scratch that blended many together vs trying to preserve a single one. Old saying about putting all of your eggs in 1 basket.
You can tell the ones with names you don't hear about and pedigrees you don't quite understand.
We don't chase behind others names & work but focus on our own.

Maybe now after the cat is out of the bag some of the more newer guys will focus less on the big names and more of making there own names.

Allot of the dogs he talked about in his interview with name changes where he bred but Bert changed were in this dog & breeding.

Does what was said about them bother me? None what so ever. Not one bit.
    I think it's funny myself.
Like others had been telling me for years, My family of dogs I crossed them with were more mine than the Sorrells dog I used was Bert's LOL!
    True story.
The same with any other family I used.
I never bred Sorrells dogs but just added them to my own dogs.
    Big Difference.
What I did use I have bred them well past the point what they did in the dog I used.
i mixed them with my own I had before I used them and blended them after with other stuff. And then to top it off for more generations than what the money dog was I added.
Even though I use other dogs he mentioned that are also down from the old Sorrells such as Tatonka dogs & Greenwood's yet again the % of all combined and generations don't equal up to what I had done.
Breed your own in the present & future & what others done in the past won't matter.
Even though what Bert Sorrells bred is in my pedigrees , It don't change what I done one bit.

Just breed your own and you can't go wrong.

I have my own versions going on I am sticking with long before I knew of Mad's dog was bred like that he thinks so much of.
    His dog dog Chunk

and many of dogs noting like what Mad has at all or anyone else unless it came from me or down from mines.

Breed your own dogs and focus on your own name & you won't feel some kind of way decades down the road finding out there were not what you thought they were the whole time.

Why do you say chunk and old key were similarly bred?

    Because it the same concept.

Both have Sorrells/ Greenwoods top and bottom as major and both have a little bit of Boudreaux and a little Bolio/tombstone ( Maloney) in them as outs .
You can see Of course Abby has the Greenwoods & Sorrells but Mango has Sorrells, Bolio,Maloney Tombstone(Crabbs) and Boudreaux.
Little Bert on the topside has a Double bred Mango with less of the Bolio/tombstone, more of the Boudreaux /Redboy and Old Sorrells.

You don't have to use the same exact dogs to have the same combination of families of dogs.
Cause if we are going to be nit picky about it than I use a purer strain of Gr Ch Herman (Boudreaux) than in black pearl that's in Chunk.
A more Pure version of Bolio / Maloney Tombstone coming from my then dog Akia .

When dogs are close like this but still have some differences you get the hybred vigor more than not.
I have some heavier with the Bolio/tombstone lesser on the Greenwood / Tatonka & some that's heavier in the Boudreaux.
    Again .
    Old key http://www.apbt.online-pedigrees.com/modules.php?name=Public&file=printPedigree&dog_id=745942
    and Bullet Proofs Chunk
    http://www.apbt.online-pedigrees.com/modules.php?name=Public&file=printPedigree&dog_id=587193

    Same ingredients by different breeders.
Chunk is simply 2 belly mates out crossed and then brought back together.
The male was off two brothers and the females was off 2 cousins.
His top and bottom is 50% the exact same of Greenwood's/ Sorrells because they were belly mates.
Old Key is just 1/2 brother/sister off Abby .
She is bred to both distant cousins on both top and bottom.
Yet just like Chunk, Old key is also 50%the same top and bottom of the Greenwood /Sorrells blood.
Now others that will go with what I feed but may also give dogs off Chunk Hybred Vigor.

    http://www.apbt.online-pedigrees.com/modules.php?name=Public&file=printPedigree&dog_id=758453
and so on and so on

He does his thing , I do mine but when you look for families to out cross these are factors you look for.
Believe you me I have far more than I need to breed without getting them too tight & having to leave my yard for another out.

I think I’m following what you’re saying, but without knowing the dogs personally it’s kind of tough. Just looking at the ped stats I get a little confused.
