Southern style Soul food

My wife likes all kinds of beer. I will post a pic of what is in the cabin frig later today. Her and my son buy all kinds of beer doing taste tests and drink while we cook. Last night we did a ribyeye, chicken, sausage, shrimp, vegetable stir fry on the griddle grill.

Try this one, try that one. I guess that is OK if that is what you are into. I have not drank a drop since 2001 or so, but before there were only two alcoholic beverages on the planet. I drank Bud in the bottle, the original Red Snapper and Jim Beam. Beam and Seven to be exact.

Anything else was a waste of time and money. I would not give two squirts of piss to drink anything else.

Funny story ( as always). I am really hard on my son and his friends when it comes to drinking. They pick all this sissy beer, and fruity shit, and let's pour some shit in a bottle, make a colorful label with a great commercial and fuck up what use to be a good beer with horseshit flavors.

There was this one kid who was a pretty cool kid but my demeanor had him petrified of me (how I like it with the younger generation, LOL). I walked up on him in a crowd of those kids,maybe 6 or 8, and I grabbed his arm and spun him around. Scared the shit out of him. I pointed at his long neck Bud and said, "Out of all these wusses standing here, you are the only fucking grown man in the bunch, fucking pussies". It scared him to the point he did not know if he was screwed, punched or hit in the ass with a 2X4. But when he figured out it was a compliment he laughed.

So for me, what seems like forever ago, it was a long neck Bud or nothing as that was the only beer worth drinking.

Although I have not drank in 20 or so years, I loved it, and I thing I could drink a five gallon bucket right now. Best in the world.

This is the refrigerator in the cabin and the griddle grill form last night.

Not exactly southern or soul food, or maybe it is, a little bot of this and a little bit of that to make a full meal. Maybe, maybe not?

Funny you said, corn, my wife got all the corn ready last night and left it in the house.

It will be corn on another day.

It turned out nice.

We are gearing back up for the rest of the summer. The last year or so the cabin has pretty much been useless.

Hopefully the Covid issues are moving behind us and we can get back to our weekend gatherings.

They drink. I eat. Pretty good time.

Better than my attempt at my first smoker. It was smoker but I could direct the heat to the top and make it an oven.

I cooked some country style ribs.

It would take all of the CSI shows and all their forensic knowledge to figure what I had left inside.

I pushed it over with the tractor and never thought about making one like the one in the pic.

You could make pizza!
