I can tell you this that it will come easier if you have your dog tied out and make them go after it just like the flirt pole. I hae done this for years and it has worked 95% of the time. You will also need the rope like in the pic. It can be swung around and prey be built up until it is time for them to bite and then you let them and start to use the rope on the other end to have tention. The tug of war but for the object that you have big praise and keep lifting and then let down lift and let dow so they can run with it for a second and hten lift them again. You start this way and progress until you don't have to have the rope and they see it and start to go nuts then ask them to sit rightn underneath it and jump for it and they will and then they are on it wioth no problems and you can praise and push them around. just how I start with my boys and girls. I do seminars on this around the country for people who want to train for Iron Dog or do protection work with their dogs. Hope this helps. Keep learning, keep Bulldoggin, keep training. My dog absolutely loves being suspended off the ground while playing tug, I have to take turns with my husband with the tug rope lifting my dog up off the ground spinning him around while he practically pulls my arm off. Do you have any suggestions? I really would love to put a spring pole up, but like I said I have no trees in my back yard, and I know my neigbors would'nt like it if I hung him out front!
