St.benedict hounds

Would like to know if anyone has any info on the ST.BENEDICT bloodline and how do these dogs act would be greatly appreciated.

St.Benedicts has been breeding dogs along time, and has bred some nice dogs that eventually ended up a majority jeep redboy upclose and go back to thier older breedings... Fatbill didnt like St.Benidicts and called him the blood of the month club as they would breed to the best studs availible from the days of the failed peterbuilt and zebo, to more modern studs that were successful such as ch crock,werdo, lees reno, banjo, tab, rutkus etc... Some good to greats come from some of these breedings ... IMO "the blood of the month" was as succesfull as all the haters who knocked the practice of breeding to rom studs...
I just recently found out that St.benidicts has a partner across the pond that I know nothing about, but the united states ST.Benedict Matt is a good person with the breed in mind... His brother was one of the best conditioners and handelers off alltime, no other than Barney Fife who documented alot of great outtings with thier dogs as well as others including the battle of the grandchampions buck and sandman storey...

I dont know if Matts still breeding, but if he is alive and well... I am sure he still has the itch to put a good litter on the ground off one of the best studs availible...

 

He is still breeding dogs. Matt is a nice guy. I used to talk to him a year or 2 back. He wanted me to help him track down dawnrest kennels because of the famous woods snooty photo that has dawnrest stamped across the photo that he took himself and I guess wanted to know why the guy was portraying like he took the picture of snooty. Never did find out what ever happend to Dawnrest. He complimented me on my dogs and that was the last we spoke. He was working on a book when we last talked.

 

I guess I should have said he was still breeding dogs when we last spoke. A lot can happen in a year though.

If I remember right thier was a add in the ADBA gazette for these dogs. I haven't renewed my subscription in over 2 years though.

 

I don't seeing a ad for them, in one of the latest issues... a buddy of mines gets them

 

What's your opinion on fb, I've heard(from several & seen a youtube video of saying some not so favorable things) he took the busenbark route... reply here or start another thread, my apologies....

 

When I get home I will go back and look to make sure.I mean it could have been someone else with this blood but ill look when I get home.

 

I am looking at the add right now.Ok I don't know this blood or who established it but their is a add in the gazette as I said with phone numbers.St Benedicts T - Bone / St Benidicts Reuka ...I assume this is the breeding they advertising and it's a full page not a partial.

 

Fall 2012 ,Volume 37 Issue 1 ....and as a matter of fact I believe that's one of Ziggies dogs on the cover.
