These dogs were bred solely for the show ring as we all know. I just thought I would get the thread started.

i agree and it was also the reason behind me and knock discussing making this forum and a coexisting chat to go along with it. i mean they arent pitbulls so why should they share space in the forums with pitbulls. my basic opinion is give the unwanted close cousins of this fine breed their own forum to make everyone happy.

Thats true the staff is not a wanted dog in the pitbull community...The thing is that newbies think they are the same breed..They don't understand that they have been bred separately for so long that they have become too different breeds...I even know a breeder of the Staff and he calls them Pitbull's, cause in his words( there the same dog ) his dogs are just bigger game bred dogs...lol..yeah right...He breed's the Gaff line....

    jman,
not to sling any shit or cause an uproar, but arent u working on bringing gameness back to blue staffs?
just curious do to previous post and pm conversation.

alot of people start out with this breed by buying a staff and then learn it is inferior to gamebred dogs, then after their staff stops when it is done with the 10 minute barnstorm and runs hot. they realize if they want to make it in this sport they need a true gamebred dog instead of a petbull (amstaff)

i dont care how an individual bue dog turns out i still wont breed to anything that has it in it. i wont even stud out to a bitch with blue in her ped. i look at it as freaks arent known for producing more freaks.

If you look at my Blue males pedigree you will see a 50/50 mix of show dogs & game dogs (TURPINS,Watchdog/CH ART/ELI/CHINAMAN. My male is a Pitbull. As we have talked before I told you I was looking for a blue bitch with similiar lines. Everyone who has seen my blue boy leaves with no doubt about his gameness. He actually tries to eat anything else on the yard. As we all know.......blue gamedogs are few and far between. I have never owned a staff in my life! I will be breeding him to my other lines to continue to create one BLUE BADASS MOTHERFUCKER! This is nothing more than a quest to breed the greatest exception to the rule there every has been. Besides, like I told you before....I raise the blues for the $$$$$$ as I make a healthy supplement to my living and afford me the opportunities to do more with my other dogs. But thank you for being an ass as usuall.

    Jman,
like i said before i didnt want to start shit or anything. i just noticed that you said "staffs are for girls". and it made me sit back and think for a minute. Blues are staffs and their is no such thing as a blue pit?!?!?!?! Jman says this and then he says "staffs are for girls" i just seen a contradiction and pionted it out, and tried to do it in a respectful manor, and if it was taken wrong i apologies. and like i told you before if u breed blues for money, more power to you. i cant hate one someone making money. but if you want to be a puppy peddler thats on you. go ahead and make your 30k a year peddling dogs that are half "for girls" in your own words. and as i have said before if your mission is to breed gameness into those dogs more power to you, but it would not be a venture i would take on due to the time and money involved. but the 30k puppy peddling cash should help. i have no problem with that everyone has their own hussle to be apart of the game. for you it is peddling blues, for me it is working 2 full time jobs and building websites on the side. So dont get mad at me for pionting out the contradiction. i mean blues are staffs, you said your dogs are 50/50 - blue/gamebred, then you say staffs are for girls....? Im sorry but is it just me or don't you see the contradiction i noticed.
and like i said before no offense intended i was just pionting out a contradiction that you put out there.

    rocksteady I'll drink to that..

Each their own i guess. I have a bulldog with blue in her pedigree and I wouldn't trade her for the world. Blue pits were around long before the blue staffs came about..just very few and far and probably the majority were culled maybe they were given the chance, maybe they wren't. I wasn't around back then so I can't say.....heck, according to history the Blue poll dog of scotland was blue and brindle mostly and used in the formation of the APBT. A blue dog isnt a bad thing if not bred strickly for color..any color can be made bad by that standard

Good dogs are were you find them. I agree with MMK on a few things..I certainly wouldn't go hunting out blue dogs . and knowing now what I've learned, I might have passed my girl up. Sure glad I didn't, though. I would have missed out on one heck of a dog. But as MMK sates, it does take alot more planning and hard work to really make sure you'll get some good dogs, if any in the end. Heck though, thats the same with just about any dog out there. Breeding is never a 100% sure solid thing. Not every 100% gamebred dog will throw good pups..true, you havea much better chance, but nothing is 100% Every line out there has its bad points. Every color does, too. Several strains of red dogs were ruined by bad breeding..

thats cool u like your mix dog (pit/staff). but no offense i would never want anything with staff in it. i just feel anything staff is trash even if the dog was good himself he wont produce anything (99% of the time) i just have a very low opinion on them and think that the adba is a piece of shit for registering mix bred dogs (pit/staff) u will never catch me with one or me breeding to anything with blue in it no matterhow remote. i take pride in my yard and wouldnt breed to anything i wouldnt keep myself. and i definetly wouldnt keep anything with staff, and if somehow i ended up with one on my yard and then later found out it was a staff, it would meet a bullet and not be pond off to someone else. that is the seriousness i take in hating staffs. if i studded to a bitch and the owner of the bitch lied and said she was something else and she was of blue decendant. he wouldnt get dick for paperwork and he would not get any refund for the stud fee or if i was to do a pup deal they would be drown. not saying i have a big ol yard of aces or anything but breeding to anything with staff would be taking stepps backwards imho. well enough putting down on the unwanted cousin of the true american dog.

While I agree with you...in the fact that I don't want staffs on my yard, you gotta remember, good dogs are where you find them. If I somehow ended up with a GOOD dog on my yard, that showed all the traits needed to win, and then somehow I found out that this dogs got some staff somewhere in his ped, I wouldn't necessarily throw it out with the garbage, I'd show him and see if he TRULY IS GOOD...now on another note, I would NOT incorporate this dog into my breeding program, as I agree, it would be taking a step backwards. Just my two cents for what its worth...

for me it would catch a bullet as it would be a waste of space to me since it wouldnt fit in my breeding program, i wouldnt stud it out (no matter what price is offerred) and it would be taking up space for a true gamebred dog. hell each of my dogs cost me probly almost 1500 a yr to feed. chicken quarters and 35 dollar bags of feed, + wormer +flee meds + new dog house every year + vet visits. it isnt worth the money to me. bottom line to me is i hate them and if i get stuck with one somehow no matter how many it has won it is gone to the world. hell i would try to make that dog quite just so i could not feel bad putting it down. to me they are just junk even if it wins 10 pulls. i just hate them, wont go into them and dont even consider them dogs. i am pretty open minded until it comes to staffs. i have no consideration or respect for them
