As a Massachusetts resident as well as Marine and veteran, I am furious with the thought of a statewide ban. I think there are far more problems and issues within this nation as a whole than some lawmaker's fear or lack of knowledge about our breed. What's next? All of our "dangerous dogs" have to be neutered/spayed? So if a certain race/ethinic group committs the most dangerous/henious acts of crime we should ban and neutered them as well?

Mark and I talked about that this morning. I will probably bring her with me. If I do, she's going to be sporting a T-shirt embroidered with the phrase she came up with, "Please don't ban my bestest friend." and a pit bull on it.

Edited to add: We've done some screen test with her and she interviews on camera very well, so that is a plus. Steve got an awesome clip of her when he asked her to talk about any subject she wanted. She looks directly at the camera and in her most serious five year old voice says, "Having a dog is a responsiblity and a priviledge. If you can't be a responsible owner, than you should not have the priviledge of having any kind of dog."

for some reason, i can see the Gremlin making a HUGE difference if you bring her to MASS.... she is a child, and thats what they need to see.. and have her kick their asses tooo while she is there...

About time to leave and move south of this country.

  10. That is why I left MA , to many things that the man wants to take away. there are more restrictions there than you can imagine. FL feels like no laws. just dont be stupid in the south and you can do what you want.

I seriously think I need to move south. I've been tossing around the idea for a while. Any suggested states?

I work for a vet that's actually a network, as we have 4 hospitals. so last night i sent out e-mails to every emp, hoping to solicit some replies from some of our DR's here, as well. anyhow, for anyone interested in hearing this, especially if they streamline,

here is one of the many -emails i just received:

Hi Sue, I work part time at XXXXXXXX and I got your emails about the pitbulls
and I had just sent an email to Rock 101.1 fm asking for more info on this
ban because they were discussing it yesterday. Anyway, after I got your
emails... I got a response back from Scorch (the afternoon DJ) so I passed
the info on to him and asked if he could talk about it on the air... anyway
he will be bringing this up Monday and even asked me to call in if I could.
This radio dj is a bigtime dog lover and has had pits before which is why he
is so passionate about the subject. I thought you might wanna know so you
could listen Monday, or even call in too - the number is 603-668-0234.
Thanks for the emails and thanks for all you are doing to fight for these
animals. I have a friend Melanie that has 5 dogs (2 of which are pits) and
    they are sooo sweet!

so, for anyone that can pull this in on monday, feel free to call the station and be the voice for your dog(s).
    TY.:)
i will enclose the hrs he dj's when i find them out (not a listener of this station, and am unfamilar with this gentleman).

Sis, I am in the boat with you. If they get one state, you know it's only a matter of time!!

As to who it was that wanted a suggested state, I suggest the great state of Louisiana! Think about it. We are the last state in the union to have game birds legally! And they are not due to be illegal til 2009, so that gives us time to overthrow that junk!! Oh, and did I mention, crawfish? Heck, that's enough reason in itself!!

Sorry to burst your bubble Pig, but 2008 would be the latest that cockfighting is legal. However, the Senate is planning on basically vetoing the House of Agriculture's extended phase out proposal & go for an immediate ban. A compromise is expected & it looks like 2007 is it. I've got a friend down there sitting in on the meetings & it's well known that even the guys in that gamecock business here have given up.Now, back to your regularly scheduled programs.........:)

As of Saturday afternnon, it looks like a compromise b/n the Senate & House is inevitable & the Senate has a better chance of getting what they want. :(
