Look man... This is not about anything illegal, it's a legitimate discussion about sport's and animal's. So don't give me the bullshit about the G-Men.

I'm on a crusade to make dog fighting legal in America, commissioned with rules and referee stoppage; the whole nine (but that's only part of what this thread is about). No one should fight dogs now because it's illegal in America and I don't condone it.

But, let's say it's horse racing or some other sport; enhancing a dog or any other animal through drugs is counterproductive. We selectively breed animals; that's how we got Thoroughbred horses or German Shepherds or Bulldogs.

It's not like people (Baseball, Football... where it's about the season...animal sports are more about the next generation I.M.O.) We dont pick pro ball player's wives. Jordan isn't breeding w/ Lisa Leslie/Rebecca Lobo.

I know pre-76 and maybe after ;): some matches/dogmen would test and make every effort to stop cheating, but nowadays there are so many thing's Adrenaline (i know overheating, but believe it or not you counteract that with another drug) and even other newer more advanced drugs, that can be used.

What do you think? Should performance enhancing drugs be allowed in animal sports. Are we really breeding the best of the best; or just the one's that best tolerate the drugs.??

I mean really not allowed; not like human sports where the commission doesn't want it; but people are split on whether or not.

I mean like people really despise it and it's really illegal. Like someone who give's their horse steroids, not only get's banned from the sport but get's his ass kicked by some random betting hobo; too!!!

no drugs shouldn't be allowed for reasons you previously eluded to...if you are trying to run a breeding program how can you base your selctions off of a dogs ability if he was under the influence of enhancing drugs?!...how can you honorably count wins or losses if a a dog wins over a 'clean' dog or loses to one that's all doped up?...

I appreciate the post. So what do you think about the argument if everyone has access shouldn't matter?

I think that now a days you have to to test drugs in order to compeat.
Truth is the ones who have found the st that works for them have kept there mouth shut. Its all about advancing. Especially when you have a talented figure thats missing or lacking in one area.

The key is too go as far and as hard on natural supplements strong dieting and ability. Then in primetime kick it into overdrive. The strngth of the system will keep it from over heat just like an automobile! its all about the car and the durability

I think in a game of consistent advancement you need to practice drug administering with care and reason. A prospct may be excptional in all places but lack air to show through genetics. Also the key to the advancment is the the natural ability and health first. This will ensure that the motor can with stand the nos without overheating! it can be done right !

Steroids have many uses the most common ones are used to aid recovery. Others are used to build muscle overuse of these muscle building roids and you'll charge will end up blowing a gasket quick time.Unless you know what your doing with the different roids leave well alone or learn from someone who does know what they are doing. In my opinion "au naturel" is the way to go,with a keep that works and just using the roids for recovery.

Never in a million years will the sport ever be made legal in any of the states in the good ole U.S. of A. Nor will it be made legal in the British Isles or many of the European countries.Even most of the Balkan countries the breed is outlawed, I know in Romania the breed is banned but its legal to match lol. But there is still a lot of corruption down in some of the lower countries with the authorities who take a percentage of the gate money etc. More countries that join the E.U. the more they have to adere to the laws or they should do lol.

When money is put down it's less about sport and more about the gamble.
People get creative when they want to snatch that big purse.
For me,I say yes for recovery and no for enhancement. But I'm not a big gambler;)

And good luck with that USA thing*chuckle*

I hear you all about the USA thing. But today they made bullfighting illegal in Spain it's going to far and there has to be a backlash. In Russia they're going after people who made a donkey parasail because of some woman actress. (That's all today)

In the 70's they went after the cool kids. The fascist(hippies called them) and now we're the activist. But we're still to cool to complain or make a stink. That's going to have to change soon. The walls are closing in. It's going to affect the wrong person's kid and finally it'll loosen up. Boxing was illegal for the longest. It's possible. (But hey I'm young and idealistic). They're old and idealistic and changing the world.

Anyway back to Steroids. Has anyone done any research on the affect of roids on mammal offspring. It's pretty fascinating...I'll find it and post it later.

Children of men who took Testerone have lower T levels. VS. children of men who lifted weights without roids they're kids are stronger it's evolution with smaller muscle mass.

We bred and evolved these animals over years decades centuries and we're fucking them up with drugs.

If anyone finds info on effect of Roids on birth rates/reproductive tissue and shit please post it. Won't be able to look for it for a while.

can you post a medical study to back this statement up?......as far as steriods go.... as long as the opponents are aware that your using them before the competition....then its not cheating.Steriods can greatly improve any athletes strength and performance but only if the the right ones are used,at the proper dosage and the proper time......unless you 100% know what your doing...you will more then likely do more harm then good.there is always a risk of fertility issues if one chooses to go down this road....most have no issues but some do.....its like any drug..gotta weigh the benefits to risks

I will definitely post it. Remember steroids didnt come into play until after the 50's. I'm telling you when it come's to animals who we selectively breed; It's fucking them up. Destroying centuries of work. It's not like people; (Barry Bonds etc.) I think that's different.

If i dont post it tonight; I will have it by tomorrow morning.

This is effects of tren steroids in plain English. Genetic Damage.

    14. Sterility in Males and Females

It´s a common side effect of steroids to cause temporary sterility in both males as well as females. In fact, anabolic steroids are so proficient at this that they have actually been studied and approved by the World Health Organization as a male contraceptive possibility. Steroids do this by disrupting the various hormones in women which potentiate the ability to have regular menstrual cycles. In men, steroids lower Follicle Stimulating Hormone to the point where normal production of sperm is not possible. This isn´t to say that nobody on a cycle has every conceived; quite the opposite, actually. There' ve been legions of "happy accidents" reported to me by athletes who were on cycles and thought they couldn´t possibly conceive.
Sterility caused by steroids is temporary, of course, and generally reversible (this means sometime's it's not)by treatment with Selective Estrogen Receptor Modulators such as Nolvadex or Clomid , and/or Human Chorionic Gonadotropin.
    (1. Fertil Steril. 2004 Jan;81(1):226. 2. Urology. 2000 Oct 1;56(4):669.3. J Clin Endocrinol Metab. 1985 Oct;61(4):746-52 4. Fertil Steril. 1994 May;61(5):911-4. 5. Andrologia. 1985 Sep-Oct;17(5):497-501 6. Urol Clin North Am. 1986 Aug;13(3):455-63.)

This article speaks in a positive light about affects of steroids on people and their future child bearing prospects but still has to admit
    decreased sperm counts, decreased motility, Abnormal Morphology;
(to me this equals retarded sperm)
    http://www.ivf-indiana.com/education/bodybuilders.html

    Abnormal morphology:
Normal sperm have an oval head with a long tail. Abnormal sperm have head or tail defects — such as a large or misshapen head or a crooked or double tail. These defects may affect the ability of the sperm to reach and penetrate an egg.

I also believe all this stuff may not harm us that much but is exaggerated in a lower life form like dogs.

This article flat out talks about the toxicities of tenbolone in beef this isnt directly injected at the levels one would use for performance (again I believe it would be exaggerated)

    and it's from the oxfordjournal.

HOW DO STEROIDS AFFECT THE MALE REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEM

reproductive system, in animals, the anatomical organs concerned with production of offspring. In humans and other mammals the female reproductive system produces the female reproductive cells (the eggs, or ova) and contains an organ in which development of the fetus ?

When a male starts introducing extra testosterone into this body, his internal regulatory system will reduce its own production in order to maintain a stable internal environment. If too much "foreign" testosterone is added, the body will no longer produce its own supply.

A 1984 review of the literature revealed athletes on anabolic steroids. This chemical balancing produces an increased potential for numerous feminizing side effects in the male reproductive system. Side effects

One researcher reported that the sperm count of 15 athletes decreased by an average of 73% over two months of anabolic-steroid treatment.
