Decided to take up a new hobby. So went out and bought a mountain bike 2 weeks ago. Figured I'd do some road work with the dog and explore different places. I didn't really mean to dig in my pockets however the lady who helped me was dope. So I didn't really pay attention to the price till she got me at the register lmfao.
Ordered some carbon wheels, handle bars and new suspension fork and dropper post.

I haven't road a bike since a kid. But so far it's pretty cool. Looking forward to making some trips to Arizona and Colorado this summer.

I had the idea of spending a few hundred bucks on a bike when I walked in. Things got a little out of hand and they got me for a little over 5k after the add on Things I ordered with the bike. I don't regret it though because I'm having a good time. Just got back from a ride and seen some cool shit.

I am not a bike rider and had no idea the money that can be spent on a bike.

We went to Uwharrie Park and rode side by sides last year. It was also the weekend for the Jeep Nationals. The trails were incredibly crowded between Jeeps and UTV/s.

A guy in Jeep broke an axle and a 4Runner ruined his transmission trying to tow him up a hill. Together they blocked the trail for everyone. We had been on one spot well over an hour and it was rather warm that day.

Out of nowhere here comes this guy on a bike and he was pedaling like he was running a hundred MPH, just screaming but the bike was barely moving. This guy weaved in and out of the traffic on a mountain rock trail even going up the face of a rock like nothing I had ever seen.

My buddy exclaimed, "I just paid $25K for this Yamaha and I ams tuck in the mountains and this sonofabitch just passed me on a bicycle!".

So we looked it up when we got home and this bike was way north of $5K. I had no idea as bicycles are bought at WalMart for $159 tops.

But having race cars for a long time as soon as you say "carbon fiber" that translates in serious jack $$$.

Good luck with the bike. Riding a bike is one of those 'things I should be doing'. LOL

    Nice.

It was bound to happen sooner or later. Too much speed slick trails equalled me eating shit. Had a great day though. This mountain biking shit is pretty cool.

Speed and control often butt heads. When speed wins it sometimes hurts a little. (maybe a lot)

When we started racing dirt cars what feels like a hundred years ago this older fellow who looked like he had raced for a hundred years himself told us that tid bit of wisdom.

And like most men, "Is the bike OK?" and by the way, "Are you OK?".

    The equipment always comes first.

    Hope all is well.
