Im planning on putting together a tank this evening to do some swimming... it has been so hot and humid, the dogs wont work very hard.... get overheated too quick....
A good friend of mine said to watch the dog carefully.... If he starts to get too tired, take him out ASAP.... My friend has had a dog work himself too hard, and drown in a matter of seconds....
    NOT GOOD...:(
I was planning on starting with short intervals in the tank... just to see how much is too much... then slowly start adding a min.....

  4. yep, you have to watch them and take them out after a short while, it is a hell of a work out

did you mean pup.........or was that just a figure of speech.
man i hope you ain't swimming no puppy. that would be unheard of
and in my oppinion one of the stupidest things someone could do
if i have offended you, then take head and learn, pups should not
be swimming. if you are simply meaning the dog was not impressed
i am sorry, for jumping the gun.

Can I ask you guys this tank setup does this mean that its just a simple tank that is large enough for my dog to float. Or do i have to make a little bigger for my dog can swim around? Could you please guys elaborate more in setting up because I wanted to create one for my dog. Thanks

It's my understanding, that the swim tank is a little bigger than the dog and deep enough to allow swimming motion. Then the dog is fastened to a fixed point and allowed to swim in place. But you really need to supervise the dog closely to avoid an accident.

The dog I put in the tank was 2 yrs.... but Its not big enough I think... he can "cling" to the side... so..... Just been going to the lake!!

  11. when you guys do the swim thing, dont forget to attach a fifty pound weight!!! LOL
it is called underwater weight pulling!!!

  12. I think i might need to go swimming, with it as hot as it is.

I mean really. Stuff like that shouldn't be posted at all. I think that should be deleted. Even though that was a joke, there are some really really stupid people out there and someone might take you serious.

Come on now I think we can all take a little joke now and then. Anyone with a brain can tell it was a joke. I mean if you take this kind of stuff seriously then you shouldn't even be owning a dog. I see nothing wrong with the post. It's time to loosen up around here! LoL :p

I never said that I was actually thinking he would do that. I think if people would re read what I wrote. I meant to say that, there are some people who are really stupid out there. Even though WE (including ME: XxKonnectionsxX) know it was a joke, DDUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUHHHHHHH, BUT there are some people who would actually do some stupid shit like that. Think about all the stupid shit that you hear people say or do about pitbulls. For example there was a post where people were stating what people say to them about pitbulls. One statement (someone i can't remember who) said they had their dog loose and some guy pulled up to him and asked him did he have the locks taken out of their dog's jaws. NOW THINK ABOUT IT!!!!! If someone is stupid enough to ask that dumb question, then there is someone stupid enough to try to tie a weight to a dog while it is swimming.

I'm not being up tight! I'm just being real!
