Test machines

Does anybody kno if u can buy test machines for home use??...like testing fecal samples and stuff like that...I'm very big on not going to the vet and would rather do it myself

 

You can purchase a microscope and fecal-sol and slides from some vet supply companies. Gotta know also what to look for under the microscope though as far as parasite eggs go.....

 

Oh ok...is that the only way u can test, through a microscope??

 

In my 15yrs as a CVT that's the only way I have seen it done, unless they've come out with something new I've yet to hear about. Yeah you have to float the stool sample in fecal-sol or an equivalent solution for 5-8 minutes with a slide over it, then you take the slide and stick it under the microscope. They way you know if it is positive or not is by looking for eggs of the parasites. If you see no eggs, then usually that means the fecal is negative. The eggs of each type of parasite are different looking obviously.

 

With exception of Tapes. Most times, you will not see signs of tapes under the microscope.

I hate going to the vet!!...they are get over artist!!...don't make any sense the way they tax ppl!!..shit is crazy!!

 

jup, just met a woman who has a white shepherd. had a little flesh wound under the knee. costed her 400 euro to do 2-3 stitches and keep checking up on her...LOL

also they will always give you anti biotics for every kind of problemen even if they dont even know whats really wrong, or just some light stuff or other stuff that doesnt work to make you come back for more.

i always try not to go, and when i did i always feel stupid afterwards. just like eating some nasty mac donalds food

 

^^^LOL ^^^ True. Same way with doctors. They give women antibiotics for thier kids if they're crying just so they're happy and will leave.
