No but I have seen many sck and mayday dogs make ch and gr ch! You are going off the dogs appearance again and are once again proving my point. Sck dogs can make rank without the colby influence and so can mayday dogs, where are the colby gr chs? all your arguments go bacck to how the dog looks which is a valid point if we are talking show dogs but we are talking working dogs. If you notice the top half of that ped is full of proven working dogs and magically somehow without stacking "pure superior" lines a great dog was produced. Hmm makes you think....

 

You are correct proof is in the pudding and one breeding or one winning dog does not make an entire family of performance winning dogs. Number's are published people know what's winning and what's not. That is the real test as someone said when the dog has to prove it's pedigree. No one said there is not a single Colby dog in the world that couldn't compete with today's competition but how many people are actually competing and winning with Colby dogs in today's competition that is the real question. The number's are out there people who know know so it doesn't matter what is said on this forum .... I don't have to validate what I already know ... You can like Colby dog's all day long but when was the last Colby dog to make Rom? How many CH or GR CH have come down from this family within the last 20 years? People act like this information can't be obtained from sporting dog journals around the world or from people who have seen the competition. It is what it is on that note I appreciate Colby dog's for what they were and what they contributed to the breed throughout history. Not my cup of tea but to each his own ....

exactly.. is a rarity.. that what makes it so great.. you answered your own question. The good stuff is few and far between and thats what I go for .. I can't stand fads.. which is why I walked away from JRB stock. It became a fad. I want what no one else has. so leave your cup of tea on the table and walk out the door. There are a few Colby rom dogs and that to me is what makes them special .. if everyone had rom colby bred dogs I would be lookin for what no one else has.

you first start in on this thread questioning the genetic ability and the amount of good triats left in Colby strain.. When presented with a direct question you never even attempted to answer it. I've been readin the journal since 97' Im well aware of the stats.

If you want what everyone else has go after it. .. people who corner people with aggressive questioning then when asked a question redirects it with "I don't have to validate what I already know" .. reveal exactly what a waste of time talking to them really is. ...

opinions vary .. just like strains .. yet colby is still here through the test of time .. when ever a substrain hits it they do great for themselves. The colby gene is stronger than most all other bulldog genes. well see whats around when im 70.

On the contrary people want what's winning not what the latest fad is or ancient history that's collected dust along the way and is being used here and there but for the most part is no longer functioning as it once was .. You are getting really butt hurt because other's do not agree with you ... My point was validated when I stated the numbers are public common knowledge and can be obtained by anyone who want's to know the truth not just what's posted on this forum or on any forum .. Therefore you can argue what Colby dog's did 100 years ago and what influence they had on the breed years ago but what keeps dog's relevant in today's competition is what they are doing now not yesterday. If you like what you have it shouldn't really upset you that other's don't care for it. I am not being aggressive I am stating facts .. I have no problem answering any question that's been posted. Just because I don't own Colby dogs or care to does not mean I don't respect the history of the Colby family.

 

going off a dogs appearance.. is color all you see when you look ata dog? You can't look at that dog and tell its a 1950 replica of colby especially asa grch and that all that redboy influence just washed under the colby genes.. I see colby evertything and looks like what i cant see is proven.. So what do you have to say that isnt bs ?? I see alot when I look at a dog all the way down to the look in the eye and its mannerisms. Colby dogs have always been able to be spotted for their looks even back then .. So what??.. you make no sense..

your trying to prove your point that only the 3-4 gen matter .. well when you become as great or greater than JP or Heinzl I'll take that as fact. Until then you are just one more young guy who knows it all before he's old enough to even understand, as far as the OP.. dont twist my words or my meanings. I've said it pretty damn clear and answered everything directly for only more bs questions..
