I read a comment from RF on another site about how he lived only 10 miles away from Earl and Earl told him he didn't care about how dogs were bred as long as they were good, and hinted at not being truthful about the breedings. Will find it out.

It's probably been covered elsewhere on his site or other articles.

I guess a good cook doesn't always want to share his secret ingredients.

I enjoyed this read. I was wondering why Earl didn't tell who actually bred DIBO ? It's said that DIBO was a cold hound at 3 years old. So Howard gave him to Earl. Earl brought him around and went from there. p.s. Earl Tudor was considered the toughest there was . Also Earl Tudor had the 1st UKC Champion on record. A pure Colby hound

"I was raised 10 miles from Earl Tudors house. I can truthfully say he never imported any pitbulls. He would have told me if that happened. He told me hundreds of stories but not that. My Dad and Uncle hauled whiksy for Earl Tudor. He did have several dogs that were out of imported dogs and Grandchildren to imported dogs. He like to see hpw they fought before he acquired any dogs. Where do they find this bull at. Earl acquired dogs from almost every bloodline. He didn't care how they were bred. He only cared about the gameness and ability. Mayfield calls Tudor's dogs the only real true gamedog bloodlines. When in fact most of his dogs were a combination of several bloodlines. He once said to me. Get you a good dog and put your papers on him if you want to be famous. I'm not sure if he meant he did that or not. I have a statement writen by him and downloaded in my collection where he states. I do not care how a dog is bred. I only like him if he can win. I have read interviews with various people and quotes from various people that Nigger was his favorite dog and Nigger did this or that. I saw Nigger quit and one man who is still alive besides me saw it to. I have seen several interviews where people say Nigger didn't quit. Yet He had six or seven owners and not one person was at their homes all the time. So no one can swear he didn't quit. I can swear he did. I was there. Tudor told me that a Henry dog he had and I do not remember his name. He said that Henry dog was his favorite dog. None of this is second hand. It came from Tudor's mouth directly to my ears."

I believe Tudors favorite dog was Black Demon. My favorite dog of Tudors was White Rock.

Yes you are correct. Could of been one of the best of all time and nobody talks about him may have had the hardest mouth of all time as well. I have a liking for white dogs, don't see many anymore.

  13. Ha,ha,...why would be import staff from England?
There would of been no need to do so.White Rock,Black Demon,Dibo,exc,..them dogs would of been the product of breeding to a very high standard on American soil since the 1880s
The staffs in England at that time were show dogs ,with very few good specimens..so why would he import them to improve his own dogs?.

Tudors White Rock's dam was half staff. That's why he was sold, he thought since he had staff blood he thought he could not produce. He was bred to a lot of bitches in Cuba and some turned out okay but none as good as him. Probably the hardest mouthed dog of all time and his record shows it. Maybe there is something to the cross but I can't figure out what and why. A little off topic but a blind man could see Walter Komonski's dogs had heavy English Bull terrier blood in them and Walter had top shelf bulldogs don't understand how it could improve a well bred bulldogs blood but it did in those cases anyhow.

Earl Tudor's match record was unbelievable in general. However Earl Tudor told some of his students of the breed that were close to him , and I quote, " the first thing you need to learn is how to cheat" .. doping dogs took place orajel what have you

I always thought Bull terrier could have been used by him to add mouth to his line, after all BT have always been used as catch dogs so it's more than likely that a lot of individual were hard mouthed dogs, as it was in my opinion, an important selection requirement for catch dogs... any thought?
