  2. No bother lol.
and 14 lbs is small,I aint ever seen one that small.as anybody eles?
Smallest ive seen is 29 lbs-fit that is(or near fit)..but that was a gyp.not a male. Shed probs be about 34lbs fat..

Fitz Barnard in his book "fighting sports"(1920)speaks of a "8lbs terror"he once owend.and also speaks of "Tiney the wonwonder"who weighed 7 lbs,and was owend by Jimmy Shaw the pugilist in the 1860s..
Its intresting to note.Tiney broke the rat killing record at the time by killing something like a 1000 rats in a hour.

  4. Google Burks Tanner or look him up on peds on line..
theres a pic of him;hes a white headed dog.whos said to have won many battles....
theres a couple pictures of Burke dogs in the Armitage book(1935)what you can get cheap enough. ..you can get that book to on Kindle.

I think Burke is also mentioned in LB Hannas book to;wich you can also get on a kindle.

  5. Cheers Soze, going too pick a few books out, thanks for those, liked the stamp of this, doesn’t say a weight on pedigree but I reckon mid twenties maybe lighter, hard to imagine a 14 lb bulldog!

  6. And what about the other fawn dog further back?

  7. And sorry..I think I have confused Burkes Tanner with Semmers colonel.
Tho I think Colonel might have a lot of Tanner in him?..could be wrong but check on peds on line.

  8. Now I think;how can you get a 14lb dog?
There's gotta have been terrier in his line.or a pure to fuck inbred Baiting dog. Proper inbred for like a million generations lol.
it is crazy now I think....and theres no pictures of him so its hard to vision what a 14 dog would look like?

Similar in apperence to a smooth coated Patterdale/Fell perhaps?or a strong headed smooth coated Russle type perhaps?

    Its hard to vision.

If seen small Pitbull terriers , usually had some problems when young, bad fed bitch in pup , bad fed pups , usually runts , also seen some from litters where the rest of litters ware normal

  10. Varieties pal.
hell of a lot of variations.

with you saying what you just said,it not hard to wonder why a lot of the dogs were on the smaller side a hundred-two hundred years ago.
even people found it hard to eat back then.
