She's a bully breeder. And she has some boudrueax (Maverick side),jeep, and a few other decent blood lines that she's done ruined by crossing them with You name it bully stock. She won't listen and thinks the wieght pull dogs need to be crated to keep them from learning to not hit the end of a chain, thinking if they don't encounter resistance it will keep them trying to pull when they are faced with the resistance from the sled.

Gypsy: I haven't been back here for a while....can you tell us what happened?

I saw something similar happen a few years ago. I ran and got a bale of straw and busted it open on the snow for this poor dog -- he was chained next to a roadway and there was no fence or anything and I just stopped and quickly put it out for the him. I left another unopened bale for him.....drove by later and he was all curled up in his straw!

The late great canadian frechmen Andre Giroux kept alot of dogs in his apartment in which he ran the complex and would keep dogs on the roof,,,
some great history was either born raised or passed through that apartment...

Back in times where pidgeons and bulldogs were okay on the roofs,,,
if my memory serves me right,,, big apple kennels tried the samething
but times have changed and they made it to a big national paper,,,
luckly,,, haunch made it out scott free down the fire escape,,,lol...

wasnt the mac nastyson detroit animal cops for his urban set up???

I figured I would post my response here instead of the Above ground pen thread. Don't want to hijack it and this is more ideal to post here instead. While I am not a dogman I do live in an Urban setting where I have had multiple dogs for 20 years now. Here's a quick sneak peek of what I use and what works well for me.

This is where it all starts. I have 2 of these restraint set ups, one indoors and 1 outside. They work well to keep a bitch where she needs to be allowing me to focus more on the Male instead. Just a simple Stillwater collar screwed into the handrail beam and a muzzle. About all I need.

From there comes the whelping area. I have 3 of these set ups. If I don't have a litter here then I use the spots for adults. Particularly in the very cold winters here. Only if it gets below - temps for consecutive days that is. I also use them to keep other people's bitches that come here to breed to something.

When the pups can escape the whelping boxes they move into here until about 4 months of age.

Escape artists go here. I also use this for Lil Miss Geach or other adults from time to time.

Trouble makers and hard heads go out in my outdoor spots. I have 3 chain spots currently and a 15'x5' kennel outside.

And of course, no urban yard is complete without creates. Only 2 shown here but I have 4. The other 2 are in my living room. These come in handy frequently.

That's my 30 second urban yard tour. Lmao.

Lol they absolutely do. I rotate the ousiders from their chains daily into the main part of my back yard to run and let of steam before their walks. I have the dog area seperated from a larger area for my kids and their friends and to let the insiders out to empty. Keeps kids from getting to the chain spots and still allows me to have a backyard.

I've only been here 3 years so it's still a work in progress.

Thanks treez. Plus, when I do finally get the chance to make for my country escape, that fencing makes 4 10'x10' kennels. Lol.

    ideal urban set up,,,
the house dogs can empty in the back,,,
makes for greta examples for housebreaking future prospects...
same with working a flirt as the chain dogs catch on better also,,,
If I moved to the country I still would have a similar set up for the reasons I mentioned,,,
only the dogs would be fenced from the house dogs to get to them and long cable runs would be ideal,,,
so same logistics with cable instead of chains... very nice AGK!!!

Thanks, I really like Keystones cable set ups. If I would have seen them before I planted earth anchors I probably would have done that instead and saved my grass lol. I looked into having a contractor concrete the whole area my dogs are in but they was 5 grand to do a slab that big and I don't like the dogs laying on a hard surface constantly. Plus it would be a hard sell when its time for me to sell this place. Would have been great though for my mudd issues and cleaning.
