It is designed for you to cop a plea (it saves them time and money going to trail and yo ass is still doing time) and/or to entice you to snitch on a bigger fish (or a specific intended target).

    Thoughts on dogfighting?
If you dont want the chance to lose your dogs when you get busted, dont start with it.
Dont start with it if you can not proper take care of the dog.
Dont ever talk about it in the public.
Thank a dogmen for doing it or did it.

  3. Unless you are using hunting to put food on your table, wouldn't hunting be cruel too in a way ? Serious question.

Such questions bore me tbh. I understand everyone starts from somewhere. Same time though I just can’t be arsed to care lol. Doesn’t matter what anyone thinks, opinions are like arseholes everyone’s got one. Dog fighting is illegal simple as that. Doesn’t matter what anyone thinks, so don’t do it. ( said that so don’t do it in my head like grandmaster flash white lines lol )

So discussing that dog fighting is 100% legal in multiple countries around the world should be perfectly ok.....

I don't give a shit where dog fighting is legal. My only priority is to protect this forum. Again and for the LAST time, this thread is for discussion purpose ONLY. Discuss what you want, but that's all it is....DISCUSSION PURPOSE ONLY.

Well since no one matched a dog or called a weight or posted a video it was pointless reminder. All 3 times.

What’s the point of discussing it in public? Even if legal in some places. Back n fourths on the internet prove nothing n can’t see much of a positive. Bit like when you get nicked. Anything you say can be used against you. Some people who are against the breed could easily grab a few quotes and use them out of context. I don’t break any laws so ain’t me being paranoid and not wanting to discuss shit. I just personally don’t see the point or any positive that comes from it. Each to their own I guess.

Y'all can talk about anything historical.
If you want to discuss illegal activities in present tense, skip on over to one of your Facebook groups to incriminate yourself
This discussion is a slippery slope.

Dogfighting is illegal. I have never been to an organized dogfight in my life. Having said that, I am a voracious historian of the breed (I read EVERYTHING, including every word on this forum, match reports, etc.) and can tell you purely theoretical information. I've had PLENTY of accidents with the dogs I have owned and can tell you that these dogs enjoy fighting, and are in fact the happiest I have ever seen after breaking up an accident. I also did 1 breeding. Against my knowledge I later found out that 2 of my dogs were campaigned, 1 turned out. But the bottom line is that I have very, very little first hand knowledge. I also have friends in other countries. For example I have friends in Mexico where dogfighting is illegal, but cops are too busy with other things (and often corrupt) so dog fighters can be more open and not worry as much about prosecution as they do here. My friend in Mexico matches his dogs regularly, but he is a man of honor. What does that mean? It means when his dog is losing and it is completely clear that if the dog is not picked up it will have a very bad end, he picks it up and pays the forfeit. Of course the dog is still tested for gameness, the desire to continue no matter what.

IMO, old school dogfighters tended to be more often such men (then again you had Captain America). They regularly tested their dogs and when it was clear a dog was going to lose and had no chance of winning they would pick it up and pay the forfeit. I think today there is less care for the dogs and more concern about winning at all costs, so dogs don't get picked up. If a dog curs its chances are not good either, as someone with a yard full of dogs is highly unlikely to go to the expense of feeding and taking care of a dog that quits. Of course many will say that I am full of nonsense and romanticizing old school dogmen.

The important takeaway is that fighting and most importantly testing for gameness is what created this breed. If you love these dogs as I do, you cannot judge the process that created them, so I try not to judge anyone. Like I said....many real dogmen will say I am full of shit, so keep that in mind when you read my opinions.

I also love reading about the history of this breed. Good stuff! Without that history you would not have the game dogs that you have today.

Historically speaking.... Plenty of these "gentlemen" didn't pick their dogs up. Curs have always been culled. And if you lose you don't pay the "forfeit" you pay the bet. A forfeit is a small % of a bet placed ahead of the show. It's paid if you don't make the agreed weight, don't show up at all, pr something happens in the keep and your dog can't be shown.

Read about some of the men you're speaking about and your perceptions will change greatly.

What made you mention Captain America also? What made if so different than any of the others(genuinely curious)

I was told by Gary (half of Big Apple) that Captain America's nickname was "quick draw M'graw. He would immediately put a losing dog down. Of course he was also known as a consistent winner.
