Toys R Us Selling fighting dog toys

The manufacturer can say they are geared towards adults, but they are offered (The HH Stickers) in a quarter machine at the front of a grocery store (The machines are about 4ft. tall which puts them at a childs eye level) along with plastic toys in those egg things and fake tattoos. And in the last year I haven't seen one adult purchase anything out of any of those machines.

I agree that it promotes a negative image but as a Mom, I know that if I make a huge deal out of her wanting a sticker, It won't make sense to her and she will want it even more. Lets face it, there is no place that she can get a sticker with a sweet Pit laying on a bed of roses. She loves her dog and so she identifies with the sticker.

Just the stereotype that the media feeds off of that starts BSL... This has been discussed on other forums and I believe changes were made as others have said but not enough if they are still selling the ones having hoods appear to be fighting the dogs IMO

I have no objection to APBTs being made into toys but it is how they are marketed that sucks!

If it were just toy dogs and not toy Mexicans holding dogs in fight position it would be fine. Two things are being exploited here. Hispanics and the dogs. I can see how this can be offensive on several different levels. It is all part of the desesitization of our youth. Younger people don't find this a bit odd and off color. But I do. We played with cap guns and rubbe band guns as kids but we were hunting the bad guy. Not our brothers or some dude in a different click. Some times were were hunting the big game buck or what ever. And when we played soldiers we were fighting the commies and such. Not each other. The concept of the toy industry and how kids play with those toys has changed. This isn't the image we need put into toys. If we don't have enough crap to wade through to promote our dogs in a positive light.

Gamedog.com???? You all are upset about toys, where do you think pitbulls come from anyway. 30 yrs. out of the pit, and you have big bully headed dogs, what do you think another 30 yrs. will give you? It's a good thing there are some real dog men still about, but probably not many will get the real dogs in the future. Anybody that has a pit bull really likes the whole tough dog thing, if you say you don't your lying. I know they are great dogs in alot of area's, but just knowing that my dog can fetch a stick or tennis ball like a lab, trail a coon and catch it, and still be the toughest dog on the block. I know the wrong people read these boards, but it still amazes me at how negative this board is towards things that created the very breed of dogs we all love. I think a reality check is in order, pit bulls came from the pit, when they are no longer bred to function are they still pit bulls, or just look alikes. Mouser

I got a few hood hounds out of a quarter machine. A pit bull, English Bulldog, and an Akita. My friend got a Doberman and a Chihuahua.

u really cant blame them because pitbulls were bread for fighting and most people dont read up on them so they are ignorant to what there were bread to fight

Why our breed is in the gutter right now?

    Because we've went from this

    To this.

Where are the toys with gentlemen in nice clothes in the pit? Instead we have thugs with big chain collars. Its not what the dogs are doing that offensive to me, its what street manners are being exploited for the sake of profit. Lets see a toy of Earl Tudor holding a dog between his knees with a suit and nice clothes on.

My son has those Hood Hounds too, I think they're kinda cute. I think those ones posted are crap, I signed the petition. That's all we need is toys that promote dog fighting. It was at 153 signatures when I signed just a min ago.

    Holly Hell!!!

Seems that toys R us is a supporter of the game dog....that's a huge corperation to support the over turn of the 76 animal welfare act.

    J/k, however ......

There's no problem with the stickers or the other hood hounds ( we all seem to have put in our quarters for some ). It's the obvious dog fighting ones. If you don't want your kid to have it, tell them you don't have any quarters. If you don't want to do that tell them NO, I deny my kids of toys quite often when we're in stores. They can't have everything they want.

The problem is that they are toys for kids. If they were some nice statue for adults to purchase ( not 2 quarters out of a bubble machine ) no one would have a problem.

  17. Hood Hounds are made by Locsters... I have all of them including every Pit Bull they've created (except for the red one thats scratchin his ear), I have them in the packages and seperately from the vending machines also... Homies are created by a totally different person with many other lines of characters, and I have those shown also in the first post... i dont support it, i just like collectin anything with pit bulls... other then that, I'm good

LOL well, wherever I found it was not in a book, I had a hard enough time posting the pics...think I know how to run a scanner?! lol

Thanks though, I guess credit is due to one of those two books probably for publishing it first.
