i don't sell and i only bred for myself no one else . but if i do a breeding i want to know i have a chance and not something to be culled . some will sell and some will do the right thing . but you will never know who will do the right thing . what kind of dogs have you been breeding ? it's just always better to think before you breed .

Almost every dog of unknown breeding has went on to produce nothing of worth. Like Goat said the unknown is hard to breed on. Its a huge risk to raise and cull em all, has this dog been bred before, what makes him so good? Yis Ole Man

I agree with everything said about how pedigree/genetics play a HUGE part. But you can;t deny what your eyes see and sometimes you see things so good it's worth the risk. that's all this is is Risk Vs. Reward, right?

Always raised hunting dogs. Mainly hog and deer dogs. Always liked bulldogs but never got one till recently. I know a couple guys that have been raising bulldogs for 25 years or better that I know of. That is where I learned what I know about the breed.

ok so lets hypothetically are we talkin about a dog that might be match worthy? because i dont think any legit dog man would match into an unpapered unknown dog they might take that as disrespectful to his high caliber hound they would say he was cur bred!! unless you have some papers that you can hang on em which is common i have a partner that has had a bunch of dogs and a box full of papers that for a hundred bucks will sell you papers and if you have a pup about the same age when his litter drops he will lie and saay the litter is bigger than what it is for a price you can get papers on your pup!! i get on his ass all the time and tell em that aint right all he says is im grown gotdamn it stay out my personal business he does have a family so i understand you have to make every dollar you can to support your family and your yard.

if you wanted catch dogs for hunting than yes. any dog that hunts good is worth breeding regardless of lineage.

point is staying honest and not lying how hes bred i think it would be harder to build that dogs reputation.

    1. People pick up a weight, not a pedigree.
    2. The list of dogmen who hung papers are endless.
    3. Are you 100%, undoubtedly sure the dogs you swear by are bred the way you think they?
    4. Even when breeding proven dogs from proven families, there are still no guarantee that the offspring will be great. Chances are much better they might, but no guarantee.
    5. Pedigreed or not, it takes the same time to discover whether you've wastes your time or not!!!

It is ur dog and ur choice. If u do it and it clicks u have an eye for a dog and can see the good in a dog without papers. If it don't click ur an idiot that breed to a mutt.

U can't be one without taking a chance at being the other.

The truth is no one can say for sure. One thing I have learned by reading the history section on this site is lots of good dogs came from curs and cold dogs. Also some of the best dog men in the history of bull dogs according to this site had dogs with blank places in their peds.

Use ur own gut and intuition it's what the big boys did.

My buddy "found" a dog that was similar to the situation, great dog,
He has a yard full of dogs down from this particular dog,
I ate my words plenty of times over this "found" dog and his descendants..... lol but still won't breed to that stuff,
