Well on our way home found 3 hound pups. Around 8-10 weeks old. They were thrown out in the state forest with a bag of food about a mile from the house.

Full of fleas and between all of them I pulled 37 ticks off of them. They have ant bites ALL over their stomachs. The bag of food that was thrown out on the side of the road was COVERED in ants.

They now are dewormed, and vaccinated, given a capstar, benedryl, and bathed and ears cleaned.

I live in the middle of nowhere in a state forest.

Sad thing is they were running with a little Chihuahua mix. The Chi ran from us into the woods. We tried getting him/her. We have been back 3 times looking for the Chi. Just got back now from another look. We will try again tomorrow.

I am going to try and find homes for them.

Any takers? Lol Come on Mike you ain't far from me! LMAO

They are doing fine! Happy little shits! Barking at the other dogs. Or I should say baying!

Sigh with this it brings our numbers up. We already have a bitch on loan for a breeding. Now 3 more pups. We just could not leave them out there.

I wouldn't have been able to either, I would have ended up baby gating off a bathroom or something if I had to.

They look very sweet, good job saving them and good luck with finding homes.

I'm still blazin' mad at the shitheads who'd do that. Hope they get an awesome home. Do you reckon you'll hold em a while? Or try to find homes now while they're still cute? LOL. Whatever you do with em, good luck.

Thank you! I will def check that out. Did not even think about that. We are driving back from GA after dropping my mom off. And I was thinking what the hell am I gonna do with these pups. But I just could not leave them in the middle of the woods.

Yes that would be great! Where we live there are ALOT of working hounds. See them all the time. But I am going to check the forum out.

I know Cliff. It pisses me off too. When we went looking for the Chi this morning we saw all the puppy prints all around the bag of food. And the spot where they have been sleeping. I am going to try and find homes as soon as possible.

Yeah no prob. That forum has free posting for classifieds and I know there are hunters from FL on it. Plus there are a fewmore forums affilated but for Houndsmen that run big game n hogs. Good luck finding them a home

Great job on taking them in. I would have picked them up too. We have people dump puppies or bitches in heat out near us all the time. It sucks cause it ain't the dogs fault.

That is a problem here too. As well as people letting their dogs roam. Every morning I almost hit a lab and a Akita on my way to work. Not to mention the beagles about a mile ana half down the road that the owners let run. Then we also see a beagle running down the state hwy every morning. And the Rottie closer to town. And the list can go on. Some people in the country just let their animals roam.

But when I saw 3 pups and a bag of food I know they were dumped. Still no luck on the Chi. I will have to check out the hound forum tomorrow. After dropping my mom off (6 hr round trip) comming home and helping BF rake the chain spots and then come in and cook dinner. We both were to tired to even breed Oscar and Sissy tonight! LONG DAY in the heat! I am going to bed! LOL!

Kudos to you for takin em in. they remind me of a foxhound, beagle, or harrier type crossed with a red heeler. they might actually make someone a decent all-purpose hunting or farm dog. cute little devils for sure! good luck with finding them a home. i'll keep an ear out for anyone who may want something like them...
