weighted vest

  1. was looking to get my pit a weighted vest for our hikes. wanted to know if anyone uses them and if you would recommend it? thanks

    They are a tool. I only used them a couple of times.

    I am more of a fan of the weighted collar and pulling chains when walking. I use a decent light pulling harness with a about a ten foot trace. I cut the chain to the length that will be about 20% of the dog's bodyweight.

    If you use the vest take it off and on during the same walk. The dog's body heat is rather warm, the summer months are hot and the weighted vest serves the same purpose as a winter coat.

    Again, it is a tool. Don't try to dig a hole with a hammer.
