After watching that video that was posted yesterday, I'm just wondering if there are any neck, spine, or other skeletal injuries you guys find typical in these dogs as a result of this sport?

    Just curious . . .

I'm pretty sure some dogs who weight pull are more prone to a soreness or joint problems much like any athlete. I'm not sure about the neck or spine but maybe the the shoulders where they carry the weight...

Basketball players usually have bad knees later in life, so I doubt dogs are any different... It all depends on how often they pull and how long they pull (months, years).

somthing that i've read about is when puppies pull too much too early in life they can develop slight deformaties in their front and back legs... the weight they pull causes their 'elbows' to bow out. i've seen a good picture of an example of too much weight being pulled as a pup .. i'll try and look it up...[IMG][IMG]

these are just 2 examples i've seen before.

Wow, I guess that makes sense because you're forcing the legs into an unnatural position right as they're developing. Interesting---thanks.
