That's what I believe too. I mean look at roman-nosed horses, they seem to see fine.

I have worked EBT and lived with them since a child and they are as able to see as any dog!
Also dealing with APBT for so many years now and sight wise there´s mo difference!

For all around Guard dogs, loyal to family and warey of strangers, i would go with Pitbull/Shar pei mix... straight cross, Pit (Sire) , Shar (Dam).. we have them and are great dogs.... DSCF1693.jpg pic5.jpg

I have owned the DOGO ARGINTINO in the early 80s. I beleive this breed is worth considering. The two i owned were directly from ARGINTINA. I would not purchase one from a breeder in the u.s most are breed for the show ring. The down side in my opinion is the cost and obtaining one from working stock. The other cost is getting the training you need for the job. And when that DOGO does its job, the poor APBT will be blamed. There is one book written in spanish " EL DOGO ARGINTINO" WIKIPEDIA can give you more insight.

For Protection dogs, I prefer the American Sentinel Canine.

I would also go with the SA Boerboel, These badboys are the full package, and can handle the heat, these dogs are not so recognised globally but they the real deal guard dog, family protection, loyalty, agile monsters with a gator mouth to go with, good with kids as well, been to SA on a work trip to a mine, most of the farmers keep these boys, solid boys !
