ok we knock a lot of different people and a lot of different dogs but if you had to sit down and consider it what is the best staff blood around. something that is close to apbt standard maybe w/o the tempermant.

or just something else that makes you think that this staff blood is worth mentioning cuz it cant all be garbage.

is there anything out there worth mentioning? or does anyone have a favorite staff dog?

I don't knock properly bred AmStaffs. I love the dogs! I just knock those that refuse to call them by their proper name......... "If a rose had any other name, would it still not be a rose?"

I'm not anywhere close to being familiar with the majority of the main AmStaff lines. I've only been researching them (bookwise & online wise) for about the past 8-9 mo. or so. So far I've only ruled out which lines I do NOT like!:D My husband is very interested in them & if we do get one, I still want one that is being worked & not just coming from straight show lines. So for now, I'm just sitting back & reading what everyone else is posting......... ;)

Seal if your wanting to stop by & see Irish staffords go to anywhere but Ireland, because in the late 80s early 90s the Irish sold most if not all stafford to the uk & got more involved with the pits,
Staffords in the uk are not used very much although there is a few that are,
apart from the irish staffords there are some lines of kennel club staffords that are also doing ok for them selves again there more fitting to the apbt type than the fat show type I have included a link to a site with both Irish & KC dogs

  13. and here I was finishing reading the post and thinking to myself "wow, no bashing, no belittering, etc". Great 50, I hope you haven't started anything.
The thread is going well. Although this is a game-dog site, the site was intented for Staffie owners as well. I wonder if "Staffie" is used to describe box athletes in other countries (i.e. Irland, Sweeden, etc.) for example, Gr Ch Moya seems to have been in some sort of kennel accident :D (saw him in the link to Hurricane Kennels) Also, I would think Europeans would rather call them "Staffies" than "American Pit Bull Terriers". Why? it is not a secret that Europeans (in the most part) do not like Americans.

Thus, it is my suggestion and opinion that European Stafforshire Terrier lines may be more game than Americans (as we are used to equating Staffie to "show" material) will give them credit.

The Old X-Pert dogs were great ones. To bad the show people wrecked 'em.

As far as simply looks and acheivements outside the hunting field, matrix kennels has a nice little program. Also, Victorinos Red Ace is a nice staff.

The Main reason there called staffords is nothing to do with europinas hating Americans its because the law allows you to own staffords so therefore its easier to say you have a stafford than a bulldog;)

I would not be able to say the best staff blood, but you should try to get one from someone who at least shows there dogs and have show titles. You would probably pay about the same.

eh i love the bull dog physic (fizz eek) spelling eh who needs it.
from what i can determine the staffies (us version) have the physical traits of a pit but less dog agressive drive.
so i was wondering who had reputable dogs or good working dogs out of staff blood cuz i know in the show world you can get some crap breedings.
i was just curious to see some nice staffie blood and some of the dogs yall have posted are very nice looking.
i think you can have a good dog without having a show title. to me thats like a popularity contest of whose dog looks the best.
ive seen some ugly ones i loved a lot lol.

I like Hartagold's dogs. I think hers go back to mostly White Rock. http://www.hartagold.com/index.htm

14Rock, my girl is from Matrix. I wont go into APBT vs Staff, but I will say that I don't think I could've picked a better breeder. He totally stands behind his dogs, as well as being one of the very few who actually met all of my requirements (ie, health testing, titled in show/work, placed under contract, etc.)
