What is wrong with my dogs?

I have 2 pits that have little bumps all over their backs and face and one has some on his feet, I have never seen this before. Neither have alot of flea's, just some every once in awhile. The bumps remind me of chicken pox on a child. They are raised up a little bit, not sores, but just small red places that push their hair up some. Has anyone had this problem before? Please advise if you have and what you did to take care of it.

Sounds like your dogs got into some ants.

It could be possibly mosq. bites but as far as fire ants, I don't think so. There are no beds anywhere around their runs. Ants, possibly, the yard is full of them. Why would it come out all of a sudden only on 2 of the dogs?

Keep your eye on it. Could be the start of a staff infection also. If they start popping then you know what you have one your hands.

It could have been the ants or it´s just probably a case of dermatitis(pretty common in puppies) if the bumps are filled with some pus. In any case bathe them with a Betadine Scrub or a good antiseptic shampoo. They will get rid of it as they get older.

I know mine got little red bumps from ants...... I dumped hot soapy water in their chain area, and it got rid of the ants.... I also limed real good.... Who knows, it could be spiders.... Make sure to get rid of all the "bitey" bugs and clean up the dogs...... go from there.....

We had some puppies that got little red bumps all over them, we took them to the vet and found out it was scabies. They gave us a dip and some antibiotics. You can find the dip at most feed stores.

Did your Vet do a skin scraping? Scabies (Sarcoptic Mange) usually attacks the ears, elbows, hock, and etc. with abrupt scratching, hair loss, and inflamed skin in these areas. <O:p</O:p

You can use Ivomec (1%) the dosage is 200 mcg/kg orally or sub-q (one tenth of a cc per ten pounds). A treatment I’ve used and had success with in the past is an equal part of Pantene (shampoo plus conditioner) and Pinesol. Wet your dog; lather the entire body (all nooks and crannies). Be sure to not miss the legs, paws, pads, and between the toes, and the top of the head especially behind the ears. When done create dog and let solution stay on the dog for 30 minutes first few treatments. 15-20 minutes after that (pups 12 weeks and under half cut time in half). Wash your dog 3 times the first week then 1-2 times a week after that until cleared. Itching will usually stop after one treatment.
