What motivates a dog to bite?

Lately as we all know there has been much talk about aggressive dogs,,I am sure we would all agree that dogs are opportunists,,they see the meat thawing on the counter,,and they grab it,,they don't stop and logically think that they will get into trouble when they are caught,,and the only time they know its bad,,is if they get caught right at that moment of taking it,,not after its eaten and gone,,dogs have motives,,the meat on the counter,,food motive +oppurtunity. Why do dogs bite? the two motives for biting is,,fear and thinking they are above the human,,this is why kids get bit more then anyone. If any of u have ever cornerd a fear biter then u know what can be in store for u,,the dog that disrespects humans,,is the one that will bite when u are showing your dominance or making him do something he dosen't want to do. For me the fear biter is easier to fix. Am I missing any other reasons for a dog to bite? What are some methods of training has anyone done to remedy either of these types of dogs?

Agreed, I've put down two human aggressive apbt's thus far. I hope I won't ever have to again but if I don't, who will? I don't think enough people are doing this these days. Actually I don't think it, I know it since there seem to be weekly man biting "pit bull" stories in the news.

This breeds not for every one.....Not everyone can or do handle this breed accordingly.

yeah, shoot it! Many old dogs should have been shot such as bullyson, zebo, chinaman, etc. That's probably why we have more man biters now because strains have been made from bullyson, zebo, chinaman. This needs to stop by culling!

We had to put down a pomeranian mix because it was such an aggressive man biter. damn thing was with us since it was 10 wks and it still bit us often. its never a good feeling to have to put an animal to sleep regardless of the situation. its just a must if necessary as a responsible dog owner.
